I see people on twitter, even during games like tonight and last game, after every goal going “oh mr softee strikes again” “Igor can’t get here soon enough” and crap like that. And that’s with hank playing amazing and in a run where he’s like .934 over the last 15 games or whatever. Some people are just ridiculous. Lundqvist has been the franchise for 12+ years and it’s still not enough for some ppl. It’s actually hilarious.

Some people are just lazy and it’s very easy to watch a goal get scored and just go “oh the goalie should’ve had that”

I’m sure that most Ranger fans like Henrik and want him to do well. A homegrown star like Henrik is generally Teflon. But it’s like how you expect more from loved ones. It hurts more when they let you down.

I gotta say I was real nervous about Lundqvist with the way he played last season and the start to this season. He seems to have found his game though and is giving them quality now. I don't think I'd say he's quite as good as his top notch performances when he was younger but he's not fighting stuff as much compared to last season and earlier this season.

Credit his positioning. He isn't scrambling and lunging around. There was a shot early in the game, it was a backhand shot and kind of a changeup. He kicked his left pad out. It was his reflexes but also his positioning enabling him to make the save. More evidence still is a couple of times in the past couple of games, he saves the puck thinking he was beaten through the pads and looks behind him. He's in position faster, so he's closing up faster.

Exactly. This is why I think people wanting to trade good players even if we're a playoff team just because we're not perfect are a little wrong. If we're a playoff team and Hank is still Hanking come April, how can anyone say we don't have a shot? We all know this team is a possession team disaster, they're a shot quality team. Whether or not that's the best path to success, that's the system they're playing. It works when your goalie is playing great.

Well are we going by what we think is a "good team" or just a lower seeded team? Nashville was an 8th in the West last season, 2012 Kings were an 8 seed, 2014 Kings were 6th in their conference.

I just think with the parity in the league today and the cap really limiting teams, it's making everyone closer and closer.

I mean, it's not a great model to go by but it's just some evidence that the better team doesn't always win a playoff series. You just have to win 4 games first. A hot goalie can win you a series.

Plus, you never know with injuries and stuff. Our team last year was mediocre to bad and still, there was a realistic path to the Cup final especially with all of Pitt's injuries they had piling up.

You just never know.

They are not lazy. They wrote Hank off during his struggles. Now that he's back they don't want to admit they were wrong. Their egos are getting in the way.
