Post-Game Talk: Rangers v. Bruins - Game 2 PGT

Nah, not really.

Just disappointed that the team was flat out embarrassed for 2 games.

We could've stolen game 1. To me, that was a big missed opp. Also, the fact that Rask and their replacement Ds have outplayed hank and our D (which are our strengths) do not bode well for us.

These Bs are not the Caps. It's a much more difficult climb. Hank has to stand on his head literally for the rest of the series or we are done.

Yeah, just like the Caps in 4, right? Wait, 5. Actually no, 6. Maybe 7. Those weren't overreactions either I guess.

History said NYR aren't even supposed to be in the second round though, so maybe this is just a figment of our imaginations.

We had no business winning Game 7... History said so.....

Torts should be fired for beating history

:sarcasm:

Are you saying that Eminger is as good as Krug or Hamilton?

As a result of Emminger we're forced to essentially play 5 d-men and Girardi looked like a sloth from probable fatigue today. Although I must say, fatigue or not, Girardi made fundamental mistakes.. those tend to be more mental than physical based.

Lol as if Krug is some rock solid NHL defenseman already.

Eminger > Krug at the moment. The guy had 3 lucky plays off his stick, it happens to everyone EXCEPT the Rangers.

I'm actually laughing that you casually mentioned him with Hamilton as if he's some established player.

Sorry but Clowe and Staal need to sack up and play in Game 3. Show some balls. Pull a Willis Reed or Bobby Baun or Rocket Richard.

It used to be that players would only miss a playoff game if their legs were sliced off.

Is there a reason why anyone is asking for two guys with fairly serious injuries to come back and play? One is most likely suffering from a second concussion and one still doesn't have clear vision out of one of his eyes, and you want them to come back and do what exactly?

Emphasis on 'used to be'. Thankfully, players aren't expected to take silly risks these days.

Jagr practiced alone for 3 hrs after the Bruins win.

He's always performed big at MSG. I hope the fans don't boo him.

If the Garden is going to boo anyone, it should be Marchand. If possible, I'd gladly give away Game 3 to the Bruins just to have Clowe back in the lineup and have him give that rat a free rhinoplasty.

The Bruins are better at the Rangers game than the Rangers are, its pretty simple.

Scratch Richards. Dress Haley. Yea I said it. Forget Newbery put Haley in there for the forecheck/toughness. He looked good in his couple of games up.

Callahan had himself a fantastic game

Stepan beat Rask 5 hole, hit the post.

Rask made a monster save on Hags, 2 on McD, and more than a few others.

Nash looked like a man who remembered how to breath after choking once he got that goal. I'm expecting the floodgates to open.

Hank was bad. Not AWFUL, not "choking". He made some good saves, but the ones that beat him, can't. Yes, most of them are chances that you can blame on Danny G, but he needs to have at least one or 2 that he didn't. I won't expect that to continue.

Del Z and Girardi is just too dumb of a pairing. I like the idea and the effort, but you have to kill it. Girardi's worst game as a Ranger. I don't expect that to continue.

Bad bad bounces, and quite frankly, a very, very good Boston team. I may not like all of their players, but that's a well assembled team that sticks to a concept, plays a similar style, and by and large has been in tact long enough to play far more intuitively than our jumbled mess of a team.

I'm not expecting a comeback. I'm expecting them to make it a series, but frankly, if we DO beat Boston, we'll be stealing a series. This team is too fresh, too many new faces, not enough of a team, against a group of Bruins who won a cup not long ago.

I'm upset at some individual efforts. But given what this team has gone through in a year, I'm happy we're in the second round. If you expected us to get here and dominate, I don't know what to tell you.
I agree with everything in this post. :handclap:

Have some faith. Rangers are strong at home and can stay in it and pull out a victory or two. The key is lighting a fire under the coaching staff. It took them nearly 6 games to figure out the Caps...they don't have that amount time to figure out the Bruins.

I think it'll go seven games again. But who wins game seven I haven't the slightest. This team does better when its back is against the wall.

Boston is better than Washington, but we've looked a lot better in the Bruins series than the Capitals series, and TD Garden is not the same house of horrors. This loss stings though.

I still say both Nash and Richards are playing injured, not talking about banged up injured, but need surgery asap injured..

How's our only hope (Hank) doing? I heard he was injured in the third period? Hopefully one of Clowe/Staal/Powe come back for some depth. We seem to score more often in the Garden. Can't wait to make this a series, I don't believe we will be the only team in a 3-0 hole this round. Lets get this done!

We're the only team remaining in the playoffs with a losing record this year in the postseason. Let that sink in a bit.

Bruins are just better through the lineup. They are better, bigger and faster and Rask is not that far behind Henrik. They may not have a superstar type like and ovy or Crosby but they come at
You in waves that never stop.

"Silly risk".....like batting helmets for infielders so they dont get a fat lip.

Hats off to the players out there who have injuries and fight through them. Wherever they may be.

Kirk Gibson hit a WS-deciding HR literally on one leg with bone-on-bone. Ask the 1973 Knicks what it meant to see Willis Reed suit up for Game 7 with one leg.

Dressing Clowe and Staal shows something this team lacks -- commitment. Even if they just play 10 mins, it sends a good message.

The Rangers coddle their players, and it shows. Yankees do the same, and theyve only won one WS in 13 years. Look at the Cards -- guys come back from catastrophic injuries left and right, and run the risk of losing money. But they do it anyway.

Ask Messier how many playoff games he missed to injury. Ask Messier about the 1991 playoffs he played on one leg. Brett Favre had 30 inches of his intestine removed in a car accident -- 5 weeks later he suited up and beat Alabama. Tiger Woods won the 2008 US Open on a torn ACL.

Whatever. Clowe will be gone in under two months and Staal will be really fun to watch 45 games a season for the rest of his Rangers career.

Anyone still prefer the matchup v Boston?

Clearly if Hank gets white hot this team can beat just about anyone. But Boston has depth on depth and playoff grit on every line. Skill is absolutely necessary but so is grit, especially in the playoffs. Sometimes old cliches are old cliches for a reason. Look at the teams still standing; all have a really good balance of grit and skill.

This Ranger team is showing the same signs we've seen all year of lacking in both. Bruins have free range in front of their net and ours. Same old PP lacking any sort of confidence or direction.

I will never give up on this team. But the same old flaws are the same old flaws.

Your thinking is archaic and disgusting. Ask Derek Boogard and Rick Rypien about "manning up" and playing through concussions. As for Staal, he's said himself he believes he is a liability on the ice with his vision the way it is. He can't protect himself if he doesn't see out of the corner of one of his eyes.

As I was watching the game Pierre mentioned "it's because he is a bit out of shape. Doc" about someone. Was he talking about Nash?

Lucic.
