Chris Jericho's father, Ted Irvine, surprised his son and was wearing his old #27. Irvine got #27 Rangers jerseys for the rest of Jericho's cronies and received cheap heat by saying that New York is better than Chicago; the NY Rangers are the best organization in the NHL; how the Blackhawks were always a bunch of wimps, etc. "Rangers Suck" and "Let's Go Blackhawks" chants broke out.




Pretty cool, actually. Thought it was worth mentioning.

I got a phone call from my then gf/now wife when she was at a game in our season seats. They showed Jericho on the big screen and the people around her were like, "why is Chris Jericho doing a promo for the rangers?" And she nonchalantly told them that his dad was a ranger in the 70's. So proud of her cause everyone around her was like what are you talking about. She couldn't remember his name so she called me to find out what it was. Still a great moment though
