Post-Game Talk: Rangers @ Senators | 3/28/13 | Lundqvist or Clownorella

Even so, if Dupuis was traded here, he would have more goals than any player on this team

Yes, because he plays with Crosby. Put him on the team to start the season and he's just as offensively potent as a glass of milk.

The difference being, if Torts opened it up and told them to play an offensive system, do you honestly think we would turn into the Penguins?

No, because the players on the ice aren't talented enough to put the puck in the net like that. THAT part isn't coaching, its the talent.

but boyle on the 2nd line and PP time and being on with an empty net along with kreider benched for miller isnt questionable? how about the not practicing offense comment?

Okay, I never said they need to start playing "run and gun." However, if you don't see the problem with the current system, then I don't know what you're watching. But, like I said, it is not just the system, b/c last year's team proved that the system can be successful (but I think it took us far as it could...and will never win us the Cup). The players' efforts are deplorable.

Better for us?

Im guessing he means the return on a trade.

I want Hank to be a career Ranger, but if he were to be traded, his return should be something only 5-10 players would fetch, which would be substantial.

Oh please, if the Penguins embarrassed us, it would give more incentive for Sather to make a desperation deal.

Ha, that's probably true. I hope they just stick with what they got, they aren't going anywhere. I mean if you can get anything for the fringe guys by all means take it.

Honestly, don't you think Zucc could be the spark here? They seem to be in a desperate need of a creative playmaker.

I blame Torts for McDonagh struggling. No idea how to use his talents.

One of the fastest D-men in the league should be playing his man and jumping into the offense, not hanging back and standing in front of the goaltender all day.

I feel bad for Hank. I'm a goalie too, nothing worse than playing well holding your team in it and they can't score a goal. It's the most frustrating thing ever.

I hate listening to Torts' post-game interviews. He used to be amusing. I don't care if the blame lies with him or not. Just stop with the "I thought we had chances to make a big play there but we just didn't get the bounces" act and say "I'm mad as hell at the effort I saw on the ice tonight. These guys are going to skate until they're terrified of ever losing again. Nothing further".

we might as well open it up and take some more chances........and take our shots that Lundqvist can bail us out when we need. Because clearly.....THIS is not working

Sure.....we might not have the talent to be the run and gun Pens, but at least we'd score a bit more than now

Tortorella's post game comments.

"We need a big play at that time of the game, no matter how ugly the past 40 were"

This team isn't making ANY plays.

Henrik Lundqvist comments: "It's not good enough, I don't know what to say right now, I have a couple of thoughts for the team but it won't help anything, if we're losing special teams, we're gonna have a tough time"

Also, our games against the Pens are their opportunities for win 17 and 18, to tie and break their record (assuming they get there), correct?

I'm surprised there's nothing in the CBA prohibiting that...

I hate it when they just narrate what just ****ing happened.

"..We turned the puck over and they scored.. :dunno:"

Youre the ****ing coach.

Henrik insinuating that he is thinking of cursing the whole team out in the locker room, but it won't help anything so he will keep quiet. I think it's about time.

I do agree with you regarding the system, just saying its not the entire reason, ie. coaching. The players bare a larger percentage of responsibility for what happens out there. I would say, 70% talent, effort, 30% system.
