Finally feels good to be looking at a formidable top 15.

I think Nico Gross is a little underappreciated, and Wall is my choice ahead of the other tenders not named Georgi or Shesty, but overall could be the best-looking list this board has come up with.

Another guy getting underappreciated here imo is Sjalin. If he wasn't injured most of the season he'd be up a little higher

I think Keane and Lettieri are too high, particularly Keane. Like, take those four guys behind Keane, bump them up, then put Keane 14.

Själin is way too low.

Lindbom would be an Honorable Mention for me.

Kjellberg should be top-five, easy.

It's a good list and I think a good job overall of placement by the posters who voted. I have some quibbles. Pajuniemi too high and neither Day nor Hughes would make my top 30. I need more convincing from Lauri and I've pretty much given up on Day and I think we really need to see what Hughes can do when he hits college. His BCHL numbers are very good (not terrific) but it's a weak league compared to pretty much every other league that are other prospects are playing in.

Pretty good list. As others have said, two years ago our pool was basically a joke.

That being said, I have a few comments:

Too High
Andersson (-4)
Keane (-2)
Gettinger (-2)
Lindbom (-5)
Day (-infinity)

Too Low

Nieves (+2)
Bigras (+7)
Wall (+5)
Fogarty (should be around 25 IMO)

ironically, poll completes w Halverson outside top 35 on day he stops 43 of 45

i think our rankings process here sometimes generates oddities by its design,
voting for only 1 player, among among similar players, often splits votes and allows a possibly slightly lesser guy to 'win' ahead of a slightly better guy

as i wrote during the HM final poll,
i think we might get better consensus and results if
for each 'round' the voter selected three of ~8 choices
such votings might better reflect the whole group's opinions of who the better prospects are

The change is truly amazing. I feel like we didn't even have enough prospects to get to 30 a year back. :laugh:

2019 and 2020 draft should (finish) the restocking of the farm.

Biggest Risers:
Tarmo Reunanen
: HM ----> #13 (+18)
Joey Keane: #24 ---------> #10 (+14)
Tim Gettinger: #27 --------> #17 (+10)
Nico Gross: #30 -------> #20 (+10)

Biggest Drops:
Ty Ronning: #13 ------> HM (-18)
Sean Day : #15 -------> #27 (-12)

Patrik Virta: #19 ------> #28 (-9)
John Gilmour : #26 ----> HM (-5)

Top five where?

I don't totally understand why Keane and Gross rose as much as they did.
If I were to venture a guess, I’d say they’ve both been seen recently by more posters than most other prospects, Keane (preseason) and Gross (WJC). Keane was getting hyped in camp quite a bit as well.

Yeah this is likely what it is. I guess my issue is mainly with Keane. Hard for me to justify having him in front of guys like Tarmo, Rykov, and Lindgren, who have all had success against men in professional leagues. And then that he's as far ahead of Ragnarsson as he is. IDK. He's had a decent season but nothing great, and certainly not enough to shoot up the list like that. For me, anyway.

Ditto.

Keane showed some nice flashes in the offseason and had a very good month to start in juniors, but it seems premature to put him ahead of guys that are already capable-to-dangerous against men.

And I'm just not that high on Gross. Despite his U17 reputation he just doesn't bring offense to his current level, much less once the competition gets stronger. It's possible he'll find that part of the game, but as of now he needs to be a lights out defender if he's gonna make it as a pro. It's possible, but he's facing an uphill battle.

e - just scanned the rankings. Gross at 20 is close to fair actually; I was thinking he was 15 for some reason.

Gross at 20 in general seems fine, but he rose 10 spots, which is what was weird to me. Like, I don't know what he did to rise that far. I wouldn't put him ahead of Sjalin or even consider it; and even Bigras is a tough one, because while we hope there's the upside with Gross, there's still probably a pretty good chance he doesn't ever even become as good as Bigras.

Everyone ranks them differently, though. So, it is what it is.

In the league.

It's pretty easily between him and Kravvy here. I have no idea how he slipped through the cracks in our rankings. Egregious.

I wasn't sure if he meant top 5 in the HM section or if there was a joke I was missing.

Who's a huge Kjellberg fan?

Keane, I don't know. I always liked Keane.

I feel like Gross rose because he featured for Switzerland at the WJC, is one of the better junior players in their program, and the team went on a run, so he was on tv a lot.
