Lundkvist will never fill a role for the Rangers. He's trade bait. The kid drafted at 97th less than 12 hours ago has a chance to fill a role with the Rangers in the future.

Lundkvist's value has dropped off considerably. He couldn't handle the NHL and he hasn't exactly been Erik Karlsson in the AHL, either. There's a possibility he could be an OK NHL player if a team is willing to give him an opportunity. It won't be here.

Schneider just held up through a run to the ECF a year before any of us thought he would be ready so its gotta be him. Clearly has top 4 D potential. For all the absurd talk of Drury gutting the farm, the Rangers still have a very deep prospect pool.

add Cuylle
Just curious, what do you see Kravtsov's ceiling as? I guess I'm asking what the equivalent of a top 4 D is as a F. Seems like it would be somewhere around top 6...which I have to believe is certainly within VK's potential.

Feel like this has to be Schneider because we've seen what he can do in the NHL all the way up to the ECF. It's without a doubt that he is already a competent NHLer and will continue to improve. Kravstov still has to prove what he is in the NHL(and I am a big fan of his).

I honestly don’t know. He played 20 games as a 4th liner during the covid year so you can’t take much from it. Hopefully a top 6 guy

That's where I struggle with these polls. Is it about which player is more likely to reach their floor, or hit their ceiling? Clearly Schneider is a lot more likely to stick in the NHL...but he is probably not going to be a 1st pair guy or chip in a ton of offense or run a power play. But VK could be a future 1st line winger...or a very strong 2nd liner. And obviously he could also be a bust. Seems to me Schneider is the safer pick to have a lengthy career, but his ceiling doesn't seem to be as high as VK's. Based on those assumptions who am I supposed to select as the better prospect?

I agree about the ceiling for sure, Krav has a high one. I always saw these polls as including all those variables baked into the final assumption - so I personally factor in both floor and ceiling.

Remove shiny toy Sykora

Add Garand, and then Berard, then BMB, then Sykora.

McConnell-Barker ahead of Sýkora? That's bold.

Bold?

I had him ranked above Sykora, as did most.

Central scouting had BMB #34 on their final NA list and Sykora at #42 on the Euro list.

McKenzie’s final list had BMB at #58 and Skyora at #63

Wheeler had BMB at #57 and Sykora at #67.

Pronman had BMB at #48 and Sykora at #63.

He’s a better prospect. He is more well-rounded, has more offensive upside, and has more potential to play up in the lineup.

Edit: I’d also have Matthew Robertson above anyone from our 2022 draft.

Oh, you have your own ranking....

My hot take is that Braden Schneider has solid offensive instincts and could end up providing 25-30 even strength points when he’s developed.

I don't do draft rankings. Waste of time.

This is literally a poll in which you are required to rank recently drafted players.

It’s all good. Just seems like an odd thread to hang out in on the internet if you are going poke fun at people who give ranking some thought.

Still respect all the work you do.

I was talking about myself haha. I don't really see any value in ranking prospects ahead of a draft. I just let it all play out and enjoy it. Wasn't meant as a dig towards you or anyone who does draft rankings though.
