Garand, of course!

I’m really not sure whom to ass next in a good way - plenty of deserving candidates to choose from - in Laba, Schmelar, BMB, Fortescue to make a few. But I’m going with Mancini.

My vote for Garand should go to Emery, that's my bad, I thought Emery was the one who won the last round.

Add Laba.

Our prospect pool isnt that great, huh?
When I see it ranked it's usually around 20, which is probably right. It has some really nice players but lacks depth. It's a reflection of trading away a lot of those 2-4 round picks.

We have good players at the top, though. This is nothing like when our top prospects were Danny Kristo and Christian Thomas.

Add Laba. Fortescue, Mancini, Lamb all decent options to add for spots 10-15.

We’d be doing a lot worse if some of our NCAA guys weren’t exceeding expectations. We’ve had ebbs and flows with how well our kid to late round college guys have gone.

People are REALLY sleeping on Fortescue. He's going to end up being a steal in the 3rd round. I'd have him around #8 on my list. He's not flashy so he's getting overlooked unfortunately but he's about as rock solid on the back end as you can get. Similar to EJ.

Went Sykora. Not sure he ever becomes a top line player, but his style leads him into the 2nd/3rd line tweener spot. Emery having 2nd pair potential is probably more valuable, but the chance Sykora becomes a 3rd liner is higher than Emery a 2nd pairing guy.

Still the long game with him, but had solid stats for a 19 year old in the AHL. I'll take the more known quantity for now.

Add Fortesque.

I don't think it is that bad. We are weak at C, but we have some guys that could grow into roles at the NHL level. It's the high end level players that are far and few between. It is really Perreault and that's it. Othmann is a notch below that.

add Scanlin. He’s the only one left I believe that has played in the NHL, albeit only one game.
He is a darkhorse for the 7th D this season. He was clearly the call up for the left side after Jones. Naturally he moves up the depth chart with losing Gus.

Still should get a cheap vet for competition, but he should be given a shot to earn it.

Went Rempe. He’s already had an impact, and if he improves over the summer, as he should, he can be a regular next year.
I seem to be going with more of the “sure thing NHLer” than ceiling. Last couple of picks.
Add Fortescue.
