Boyko, loved his play after the trade,

add Chmelar, PC should be great for his hockey development, adapting to NA, and access to Ort's guys

Chmelar was pretty abysmal last year. Maybe @Amazing Kreiderman can figure it out, but I wouldn't guess guys who play at less than .5 PPG in their D+1 in Finland's U20 often go on to find NHL success. I know he looked--decent?--in his brief WJC, but he's a late round pick who hasn't shown anything else.

A list of players who had a 0.50 P/GP or lower in their D+1 season in SM-Sarja u20, yet still made it to the NHL

Think Scanlin should probably get a little more love, curious what people may think who got to catch some Hartford games at the end there. He's touted as a big physical defenseman that's good in his own zone so I don't know that the 1 point he had is a reflection of how he actually played or not

I love you man, but i think you're reaching too far, for something deterministic about a kid who played last season at 18.
His 9+9 season wasn't nothing, the Czech Nationals keep inviting him, and we've seen college hockey take kids to next level in training, performance and readiness.
Coach Nate, PC, Hockey East can offer a path to getting close to his ceiling, whatever that is.
Maybe not Ruutu/Koivu career, but lets see what the next seasons show

I'm not trying to be pessimistic about him. He's an interesting prospect. I just don't know why you'd look at him, his pre- and post-draft pedigree, and then say he's a better guy to pick than, like, Brody Lamb, who was a higher pick, had a better D+1 season, also has a lot of potential, and who is going off to play at Minnesota a year early. Or, someone like Hugo Ollas, who had varied success domestically and did see some international action, and who has a great freshman season.

The guys we're adding now are the guys that will be at the tail end of our list. It's not a big deal to me who they are. I would just prefer, personally, so add those interesting, lottery ticket types, who have actually shown something encouraging since their draft.

I mostly agree, and these exercises are half-subjective.
I wouldn't have Laba or Rempe in the voting spots yet.
Guys like Kjellberg and Ollas had bounceback seasons, Lamb gonna live the dream as Gopher after star HS career. But with a guy like Chmelar, i do give benefit of doubt to scout who fought for him, and the personal commitment of NCAA.

Altho after last night my confidence in Nate Leaman shriveled a bit 8^(

In general i find these polls hard for me, as i give all prospects my optimism, almost always thru their 2nd contract (it takes an Elmer for me to resign to their non-future in early '20's)

Went with Vaisanen. Not sure what Grubbe or Barbashev have done to be higher rated. At least Boyko had a good WHL season.

Still a few guys on the added list that have potential even this coming season to make big strides. I'll beat the drum on Lamb. Loads of talent. Heading to Minnesota this season.

For all the issues with the pick, Lindbohm still has a shot. Has to be in the ECHL since Garand will be AHL bound with Domingue, but he'll get the shot at playing.

Don’t mind me just me copy and pasting what I posted about Rueschhoff on the main boards. It’s a bit baffling how he still isn’t even an option. No one watches Hartford I guess

“Everyone knows about Kravtsov, Sykora, Garand, Othmann, Berard, Cuylle, Lundkvist, Jones, Schneider, Korczak etc.

No one knows about Austin Rueschhoff. Rangers fans barely know him. We’re on prospect poll #19 on HFNYR and he still isn’t even an option. I keep calling for him but he’s still a massive unknown amongst even hardcore Ranger fans.

6’7 elite skater with elite hands for his size. Very similar to Tage Thompson. Plays with an edge and is a better playmaker than you’d think

Forced his way into Hartford’s top 6 late last season and was productive down the stretch after a slow start. I could see him getting a few NHL games this season. Intriguing prospect that can be a late bloomer. I wouldn’t be surprised with a near PPG AHL season, and then maybe a handful of games either due to injury or just to get him a look at the end of the season

Watched him in Hartford, he has some interesting potential. Not many clips of him so bear with me on some of these

I watch most Hartford games and I like Rueschhoff a lot. I don't see a lot of upside and he's about to be 25. Strikes me as a AAAA guy at this point. Good to have in your organization, for sure, but I don't really see him as a fully legitimate NHL prospect.

Piles are doing the same thing on their board. They are at #3, and there is nobody left on their list i would trade for anyone in our top 10.

What a dumpster fire over there. How are you just off a rebuild, have no prospects, AND have the oldest team in hockey? What the hell is Lou doing???

It’s so sad how bare their cupboard is. Going to be some very very dark times once again for NYI in a few years.
