Stop with that dumb narrative please, you're using it in every single thread about a big defensive minded D-man that you like whenever anyone is even a little bit critical or negative.

Nah man, if you don't like Crawley it's because you're inherently biased against big defensive defensemen. End of story. Even someone like me, who pumped McIlrath's tires until the bitter end and was even willing to give Troy ****ing Donnay a legitimate shot. I just don't like this "type" of player.

Did I say I like his game? Can't say I know much about him, I have no desire to watch specifically for 2 year overagers in the CHL. A number of experts and people who specifically watch his team have said he was an underrated pick, seems the Rangers thought so as well, given where he was taken.

What I am saying is that I think it applies to this situation as well. As I said, look at his draft thread. Someone compared him to Girardi, and there was quite a bit of consternation in response to that comparison. People who haven't even watched him play are calling it a terrible pick because they don't like what they read about him.

Thats literally exactly what I am talking about. If you watch the guy and have an opinion, fine, but reading one or two scouting reports, seeing a few of your least favorite words when it comes to styles of play and then rallying against the guy because of it is transparent.

I think its unfair that I am now automatically being painted as a fan of every defensive defenseman we pick because I don't write them off when I first read about how they play or watch them play. I just think thats unfair how thats the mindset of some. I am willing to give all prospects a chance, based style of play and how well they play wherever they play. If thats a defensive defenseman, fine. If its a small skill-based winger, also fine. We are looking for NHL'ers with picks after the first round, not specific types of NHL'ers.

I don't know much about Crawley, but as a 20 yo on a strong CHL team i expect better raw numbers even if he's a defensive D, look at Zborovskiy as an example.

I'm not high on Zborovskiy and he had 13 more points, both on strong teams with plenty of ice time.

Maybe Crawley is the new Hjalmarsson, i'd love that, but since i haven't noticed him much when i watch London (can be a good thing mind you) i can't go on much else.

He does seem to have a real mean streak, i do like that, but i don't have much else to go on.

Other prospects look better then him on paper in my eyes right now, hence i have them over him, has nothing to do with him being big and defensive minded.

Okay, I don't know why you felt the need to respond though, I wasn't referring to you.
