Went off the beaten path here a little bit and voted for Vierling.

He's a bit of an unknown because he essentially lost the entire past season. But if he picks up where he left off in his draft year, he's a definite riser.

The top-end for him is probably more in the two-way third line mold than guys like Grubbe or Richards at this point --- maybe closer to a Dom Moore type if all the pieces come together.

Oops, I never seen that we finally added Vierling. Voted Grubbe, but would pick Vierling, if that matters when you wrap the poll up!

Add Vaisanen.

Went with Richardson who will get blown out. The was very good in college and in the AHL. His game is made for the pros.

Add Edström, again.

Add Korczak.

I think you could make a reasonable case for Edstrom to be added soon (he had a better SHL season than Henriksson, who is already up there), but Korczak seems to me like by far our most underappreciated prospect at this point.

It seems like Korczak is probably going to end up more than 5 spots behind Grubbe (who will likely win this round) in our poll, yet the NHL scouts McKenzie polled thought Korczak was a better prospect, ranking him 12 spots of Grubbe.

My personal opinion based on viewing both of them would be that Korczak is the better prospect too. He does not have the size and physicality that Grubbe does, but he is still a physically engaged, competitive player and his skill and ability to drive play and create scoring chances is way better than Grubbe's. He took the toughest defensive matchups on his team, was his team's primary entry guy, and is a skilled, creative passer who created a ton of chances for his teammates. He scored a point per game, but his team only had one NHL draft pick on it (who was a defenseman) and only 2 other forwards drafted above the 4th round in the WHL draft. With better guys to finish his passes, he probably would have scored a lot more points.

For whatever it is worth, the analytics back up Korczak's ability too, with him ranking at the top of Mitch Brown's tracking in shot assists, controlled entries, controlled exits, and defensive play.

I would probably have him 12th in my personal ranking and don't get why this board seems to have him so much lower than NHL scouts or I would.

our first goalie going on the list at #15 is the reason why Taking Jesper Wallstedt would not have been such a bad idea.

I’d recommend 7-8 options at this point. Korczak would be my vote.
