Staal is gonna suck the juice out of every dollar until the summer of 2021 isn't he?
He calls for the puck from ADA and ADA passes it to him and the islanders immediately attack him because he needs about 3 days to control the puck and figure out what to do with it.

I said this before the game we'll win unless Pageau goes all "John Druce" on our asses.

For those of y'all young ones who don't know who John Druce is, do a quick google search.

For those of us who were around during John Druce "Drucing" us, it might have been one of the more disturbing things any Ranger fan had to go thru ever!!....lol

It's just bizarre how Pageau always seems to burn us.

Who goes first Staal or Smith.
 
I know Hajek struggled and Rykov likely would, but at least they has something to gain from NHL experience, as opposed to Staal and Smith who just continue to regress.

2.1M savings if we buyout Staal. Assuming we keep henrik, this is good for contracts and cap squeeze next year with KS's $6.1M. Then it's only $1M hit in 2021-2022.
$1.5M savings if we buyout Smith. $780K hit in 2021-2022. I think management values Staal more than Smith...? Who knows. A buyout is I think, a forgone conclusion for one of them. We have D up the yahoo.

I'd honestly just like to see Rykov at the NHL level to see where he's at.

I think he could be a good partner to complement ADA's style.

Lindgren and Fox have been playing like a top-pairing, and they have needed to be that for us.

Unfortunately for Rykov he’s been battling thru nagging injuries most of the year. Needs a healthy summer and a training camp to show where he’s at.

Yeah I probably should get over it. I probably should also get over the fact while in college every stinking year I was there the Islanders beat us on the way to winning a Cup and that was 40 years ago.

What can I tell ya...I'm a bit stubborn and have a long memory...lol

opportunity is knocking at the door but his injury might be holding him back.
