Confirmed with Link: Rangers hire Mike Sullivan to

I think the benefits of a good vs great coach are minimal. I think the negative impacts of a good coach to a mediocre coach are substantial.

Lock up a good coach.
Sure, but I find it highly debatable that a good coach will translate his good coaching to a team that is not good.

Giving Sullivan an absurd contract makes me hopeful that the idea is to have a younger team grow around him in that time.
2 things that I really do not get.

1. Who are all the great young players that Sully refused to play?

2. Who are our outstanding young players who are not playing. I think Rempe has played well. I'm hopeful for Oth and Berard but its not like either was killing it in the AHL.

I'm all for getting younger, faster, and tougher in our top 6 but we need to find those players. We have not really had them lately.

According to Emily, Torts is out.

For the people who want to educate themselves about the system instead of whine.

The double-edged sword to the Penguins’ system’s effectiveness is the vulnerability that comes with inadequate execution. I imagine the up-tempo nature of this style is difficult for a coach to harness over the length of a full season. This is a demanding style that requires a high level of effort,
