We're going to turn into a fat and old BU frat house by the end of the summer.

confused by this,
perhaps missing an inside joke

Grier is 46 and was still playing 70+ NHL games 10 years ago
BU's Grier and Drury younger than BU's Quinn and (added after correction) BC's Leetch

you have given this way more thought than I have. I didn't know Leetch was BU. Brian has definitely got a real gut going over the years. Dru looks like he's got a good skin care routine going as well. I need to give this some more thought.

Grier was the first American Black player I was aware of

Black players in ice hockey - Wikipedia
First American-born and exclusively American-trained Black player in a NHL game: Mike Grier (1996–97)
First American born Black player to surpass 20 goals in a single NHL season: Mike Grier (1998–99)

turns out Val James and (ugh) Donald Brashear were USA born, and reached NHL before, but they were developed in Canada

Solid all around player from what I remember.

Hard working forward. Not a lot of glitz to his game.

If thats the culture that Drury is building, I'm for it.

Just stay away from Torts.

The epitome of Square peg, Round hole with this roster make up

As a sophomore at BU, Grier had 29 goals and 26 assists and Drury, a freshman, had 12 and 15. The next year Grier went 21-26 and was drafted by St. Louis, and Drury exploded for 35-32 in 37 games.

Those teams also had Jay Pandolfo who is an assistant with Boston.

Makes me wonder how substantial of a role did Brian Leetch and the other legendary alums truly had. At face value, i'd imagine this will add to the strength of the FO in the long run.
