I would sign him if we could guarantee trade him right away for a 7th. worth.
But speaking of hated players we signed, uuugh Rich Pylon.

Prime PK was one of the most electric players I have ever seen. If you want to recapture anything he has left, you need to put him in a scenario where he can succeed. He's never getting PP time here, and he shouldn't with all the young Dmen we have. It's not a good fit.

I think he's good enough to play protected third pairing somewhere, at that point you're comparing him to guys like Nemeth, Marc Staal, AHL-NHL journeymen and rookies. It would be very weird energy to bring him over here, but I think he'll go to another likely playoff team and do okay in a small role.

He’s bad, dirty and locker room poison. Negative value in a trade; no reason to sign.

Brashear did something worse than Subban and was a worse player. I was disgusted with his signing and he got overpaid.
Subban isn’t going to help us imo and I dislike him, so at league minimum I’d pass

Bad fit for what this team needs from a #7, bullshit aside.

If you want a silly season idea for a #6/#7 that would actually fit the team's needs, that would be Chara.

He's not bad. He's just not even close to as good as he used to be and was massively overpaid the last few years so that gives the unwarranted reputation of being terrible - combined with his dirty play. He'd be a perfectly good third pairing defenseman. However, he's not a fit here.

Absof***inglutely no. Forget about the injuries, his defensive game is trash.
This! His footspeed is gone and he is always out of position. His skating style is to blame and it's something that can not be changed. I've always liked Subban, and wanted him on the Rangers for a long time. But, his game is trash now.

I think PK’s time has passed on the ice. Time for him to go on someone’s panel, move on.

To someone of my age there was no one worse than Derek Sanderson and we signed him. After a year we traded him for a draft pick that turned into Lucien DeBlois.

If Subban is on our team we don’t have to worry about him injuring our players. But I don’t think we need him. I have a lot of respect for Subban’s off-ice charitable work and think he could do well as a broadcaster.

No need for PK on the Rangers, he would just be a distraction.

As far as hated players that they've signed in the past, one that comes to mind is Bobby Holik during the dark ages. That was a terrible contract.

Along with his baggage and his overall decline in play he is a righty and if we're bringing in another vet D I'd prefer a stay at home lefty. So even with what happened with Blais and Reaves last year I don't see him as a good fit. I'm also not sure about his locker room presence. Lastly I do agree that he's done some very nice things in his private life so apart from his dirty play of late it's hard to hate the guy. That said I don't want him at all.
