Rangers have lost 13 out of their last 17 games. What would you do if you were Dolan (the owner of the team) or Drury (the GM)?

4 isn't more than several? Like I say.. not a fan and really don't care but the ranger haters looking silly.
lmfao are you for real? Nobody's taking the comprehensive history of any franchise into account when roasting them over their current actions.

Rags have played 31 games this season. Wins against playoff teams:

Leafs on Oct 19
Sens on Nov 13
Canucks on Nov 19

Only 3 wins, with 2 of those teams swinging in and out of being bubble teams. It's almost Christmas and the win against the Leafs in October is the only positive they have this season. It's insane that despite all the negativity, people are still underrating how mediocre of a team they are.

Mediocre would be an upgrade.

Storied franchise? They have arguably the most forgettable history of any original team. They have something like 13 retired numbers and a majority of hockey fans don’t even know who most of those players even are outside of Leetch, Richter, and Hank.

11 retired numbers, 8 of which belong to Hall of Famers.

HOFers: Howell, Bathgate, Gilbert, Giacomin, Ratelle, Leetch, Messier, Lundqvist
Non-HOFers: Hadfield, Richter, Graves

The majority of hockey fans who haven't delved deep into the league's history probably hasn't heard of several of those guys... but that's literally true of every team. Many fans probably know names like Richard, Beliveau, Lafleur, Roy, and a few others. Would you say a majority of hockey fans know Butch Bouchard, Guy Lapointe, Dickey Moore, Yvan Cournoyer, or Elmer Lach? I also somehow doubt the majority of fans know guys like Bernie Geoffrion or Serge Savard.

My point isn't to denigrate any of those names. As someone who has read up on a lot of league history, I know who all of them are. Each one rightfully deserved to have their numbers retired by Canadiens, but outside of the Habs fanbase they're not that well known.

Fire Laviolette seems like the best option to me.
Its a GM and owner problem. Drury made it worse with public comments and the team is worse now than it was 2 weeks ago.

This is why we get canned remarks from Coaches and Gm's in media availabilities. Theres nothing to gain from airing dirty laundry.

and the Oilers won it for them:popcorn:
True. Which is why all Rangers fans should be cheering for an Oilers dynasty, then after we’re done we can ship off our talent to NY to break the Cup drought again.

It’s only fair, it would be a nice payback since they gave us their best coach, Kris Knoblauch.

That’s the sound of the rangers window slamming shut. Not gonna get any better with Lafreniere and Shesterkin’s new contracts kicking in.

Another loss for the Rags. And I’m telling you now if it isn’t already obvious. There is NO WAY that leadership core is turning it around.

This isn’t a lockerroom like the Oil, who were able to string 16 wins in a row to revive a dead season. Simply put the Rags don’t have the leadership for it.

And that’s what happens when you build a team with players that care more about cocktails on the Upper East Side, over honing their craft in hockey.

Who’s going to lead them out of this mess? Panarin? Hah, he already got his bag. Shesterkin? Same thing. Fox? What’s he playing for, he’s already achieved his life dream of being in NYR. Captain headshot? Well we know he’s already gone and for good reason.

If it was up to me, I’d give the C to Laf and start treating him like the franchise he always should have been treated like. Get rid of the primadonnas and start building a real hockey club not a country club.

Oh and one more thing, Trouba winning the Mark Messier award for leadership was a complete and utter sham.

That’s your solution? Lafreniere? lol. He’s disappeared since signing his extension

Did you stop reading past the first sentence? Start with Laf at C. Who cares about a short sample scoring drought on a dysfunctional team, it means nothing. Then ship out the primadonnas and rebuild.

How have you decided who the primadonnas are and decided Lafreniere is team solution and not team problem? Based on how Russian or American they are?

Nope. That’s why Trouba and Fox are squarely in the primadonna definition. Do you not know what that word means?

Ultimately my tirade was a question of leadership. Not a question of these players ability.

I would have Laf as C. I would keep Panarin cause of his talent and talent only. Panarin would be the Kane to Laf’s Toews. Sheshterkin they are stuck with cause of extension, although I would never have touched that extension but what’s done is done. I would look towards trading Fox for a haul, cause his name value is a lot higher than his actual value.

Unmentioned in my post is Lindgren who also needs to dropped like a bad habit. He’s not a player any contender wins this, softer then baby poop.

Also unmentioned in my post is quasi-primadonna DJ Zibanajed, who needs to be moved to. Although if he rebounds on a non-dysfunctional team, I could see that too.

Rangers are downright goofy. Pick an identity, name a Captain, bench underperformers to send a message, start some call-ups if you haven't already and roll.

You'd be amazed with what doing basic stuff will get you

Time for the GM to show the players who's boss. Make a statement trade to show the players that malcontents aren't welcome on the team. Tow the company line or get lost.

Maybe even start getting creative with player movement, like threatening to waive someone if they won't agree to a trade. You have to use every tool at your disposal as a GM. You're not in charge to make friends. If a player isn't living up to their contract, cut them loose.

</facetious>

I still can't believe some people think management should ever look like what Drury is doing (above). It clearly doesn't work.
