Rangers have lost 13 out of their last 17 games. What would you do if you were Dolan (the owner of the team) or Drury (the GM)?

I hope you're right, but I have a feeling this team is dumb enough to tweak the roster and still hope for a playoff push.

I'm usually as pessimistic as can be, but I am 100% truthful when I say this disaster is exactly what this organization needed.

They couldn't win last year. This year, they decided to run it back except they were undoubtedly worse due to losing their deadline rentals and the insertion of several rookies into the lineup who aren't contributors yet. Their plan was to do exactly what they did last year; get to the deadline with a playoff spot in hand and sell off futures for one more crack with this core. And they would have went dumpster diving at the deadline again, only to find out the exact same thing they found out last year; they're not good enough.

With this shitshow ensuing, we don't even have to kid ourselves that we're going to be buyers at the deadline and we can shed salary cap space and procure a better draft pick.

My issue is that we'll botch the living f*** out of whatever top 10 pick we get, which is really the main reason why this organization is in the spot its in above all else but that's an entirely different conversation.

Drury should've been fired the minute the ink was wet on the Igor contract, but even he could not possibly be as stupid as to think this team should be buyers at the trade deadline.

At least the players are taking it out of his hands because at this rate they'll be bottom 5 in the league by the end of January.

Kudos to Drury for creating so much negative press and bad karma with the Trouba trade just to make the team worse. Takes real talent to screw up in every single phase of a process simultaneously.
The story goes.......................Drury is a real piece of work so................does the owner clean house?

It’s a long season.

The rangers will be fine. There is too much talent.
As a Rangers fan, I am usually the first to defend them and I'm definitely one of the most optimistic regulars on the Ranger boards.

But I feel like anyone saying this is just looking at the standings and hasn't watched them actually play.

Not only are they losing to bottom of the league teams, but they're getting caved in by any team remotely in the playoff picture. Like... it's not really even close.

This team isn't just underperforming. They're completely lost and do not have any idea what to do out there.

I firmly believe they are one of the worst teams in the NHL this season and will finish far below .500.

As a neutral fan, I'm not trolling but I have felt this way about the Rangers the last couple years. I think they were being heavily carried by Shesterkin.

I’ll be your hope.

I think when you’re as dynamic as your depth chart is, the ugly gets super ugly.

When you all are winning it’s a bit higher risk play, which is cool and fine, just sucks when you aren’t winning. Everybody playing against you can just simplify and prolong your pain, and you simplify which isn’t your dna. Then something happens and it snaps right out. Maybe it’s 2 guys being dynamic on the same night. Maybe it’s a fight at practice, or a new coach, or a trade, or just some random Tuesday. The switch will flip I guarantee it.

Hopefully you all make some big deal. I bet that turns the tables if it happens. Whether it’s a sigh of relief or some impact skater that is ready to make an impression - it’ll jump start you. If not, the rest of your competition, apart from a few teams, I’m not super impressed. You’ll have a much easier time finding the wildcard than the other conference’s strugglers.

Their recipe of elite special teams and goaltending extends back to the Lundqvist days, they're just having all of those high PDO years hit them all at once. I'm a rival fan but I don't think their fix is necessarily that tough, the Capitals are right there in terms of how to re-tool. Now do I think Drury can execute that? f*** no, but it's still the New York Rangers, they'll still get players and quality GM/HC candidates who want to go there.

Someone mention James Dolan and his band give an emotional support concert to the team as an option yet ?

This is what people are missing. Even though Shesterkin was a huge part of their success, right now this team looks absolutely nothing like the team from the last few years. They aren’t at all playing the way you’re used to seeing them play.

I’m as anti-Ranger as an opponent’s fan can be, but I think they are gonna win a playoff series this year. I just hope it’s not against my team (again).
