Would love him in Vancouver. Desperate for puck movers.

How’s his actual defensive game?

Exactly what you'd expect from an undersized defenseman...not good.

He's the type of player that needs to be an impact player offensively to have a spot in the lineup. It's going to be hard for him to find a fit in the league because you can never have more than 1 of him on a D corps at any given time, and the Rangers have Fox. Most other teams already have a guy in that mold.

He shows flashes, but he doesn't have that one "x-factor" (I hate that I just used that term) trait to make him stick in the league. How Tyson Barrie had a bomb of a shot, Jones really doesn't have any one skill that is elite.

13 points in their last 23 games and the direction is still to burn down any roster player that criticizes management rather than change the management lol.

Wonder if Rangers ownership realizes how unwilling anybody of value is going to be to sign with Drury without an NMC.

I can’t imagine we are talking more than a mid-round pick here? Tomasino got a 4th on 2027. Parssinen got a 3rd (likely late round) in 2026.

Neither was publicly airing their grievances over PT situation like Jones. That said, there are definitely teams who could use Jones so I think that’s probably the going rate for a skilled but underutilized NHL player…a future 3rd/4th.

Very frustrating to watch another good young cost controlled piece on his way out.

Lindgren has one peice of his game that he is better at. Durability to take a puck off the chin and not miss a shift. As far as the the rest of it. Skating, Passing, finding open lanes...Actually moving his feet. Anticipating where the puck is going to be. Better shot. Zac Jones all day.

K'Andre has one thing over Jones. He's taller.

Lots of ink being spilled over an undersized, all offense, 24 year old former 3rd round pick LHD averaging roughly 0.25 points per game over 100 NHL games. That’s a per 82 average of 20 points for a guy who really doesn’t bring much if he isn’t scoring.

I don’t blame him for wanting to find a team willing to play him more - his NHL career is probably nearly on the line if it isn’t already - but let’s not make this out to be some massive failing of the Rangers. He just doesn’t do enough at this level to play ahead of the other players the Rangers had at his position the last 5 years when they were trying to win the Cup, no matter how much better that may have been for his “development.”
