After a much needed win on the road against the Pengs in Pitts, the NJD will face their toughest test since last May, which just so happened to be a contest that the NJD won by forfeit after Gallant decided not to show out of protest. Upon seeing Dano at the Somerset Patriots game this past Summer, he confirmed to me off the record that Gallant was protesting the Ryan Reaves trade earlier in the year. As much as I was a fan of Gallant and have criticized FitzHarris for cheaping out on hiring him and going with Rags reject Ruff, Gallant proved he's no good and a loser HC for not letting his very strong team take the ice to easily defeat the NJD and race right to the cup finals. But give Drury credit. Dolan also isn't afraid to open his checkbook like Harris, who is more interested in the 76ers of Philthy and Football team of WSH to really care about what's going on in NJ. FLA is an outstanding hockey club, as are the NYb, but the Rags are the class of the league and the first championship caliber team the NJD has faced and the NJD were owned by teams like the WSH Craps and Zona Yotes even before Nico and Jack were out. If Shesty can't play then Jon Quick will have no problem shutting down the NJD's popgun offense. Nice to have an organization that actually goes out and shops for veteran netminders and a proven winner like Jon Quick, at that. Instead of being cheap and going with loser VV and Ak Schmid. Mack Black over in San Jose has been better than both, but Fitz thought it was best to let him walk. We could use him right about now, along with several other former NJD players that got away, like Zetts, Ohkoteeuke and Jacob MacDonald. Just several blunders under RayFitz.Getting a real coach like Lavi has also proven to be a very shrewd move, despite it being mocked on here by NJD fans. If you remember, Lavi is another coach that FitzHarris cheaped out on to go with Ruff instead.
10-0 Rags. First shutout in over a year and I'm afraid VV will yet again come up a loser just as he did in the games he got of that series last year. Kakko will also outplay JH86 and Laf will continue his breakout, which will no doubt culminate in his winning of the Hart in 2024.
I haven't been more excited for an easy 2 points all year long! My team at the top of the Metro against the continuation of the culture of losing! Fresh off their FLUKE season last year! Life has been much better for since I gave up on this loser franchise! It's so much fun turning on hockey games that MY team actually has a chance of winning and does end up winning more often than not. MY team actually has strong young talent like Kakko and Laf. YOUR culture of failure has nothing but a bunch of soft boned and headed injury cases like Hughes and Hischier. I remember this board constantly saying not to pick Nolan Patrick because he was ''Injury prone'', yet every time I look Nico Hischier is missing games or has a concussion or is out week to week with a broken fingernail. So who is injury prone now? And MY team actually has a 22 year old that's been playing against MEN for YEARS now! That's why he doesn't get his shoulders taken off so frequently against BIG, STRONG MEN!
I echo a lot of these sentiments my friend and I wanna say, I do respect you as a Rags fan, despite the fact that I am a passionate and die hard fan of the NJD and have been for over 40 years now. Everything you've said is spot on. This board knew Nico had conditioning problems from the start, which is why he's always shown winded on the bench. There's not a team that takes him first overall in 2017 other than the NJD. Makar and Heiskanen are generational talents, but RayCastron passed on them for Nico. The NJD could also use a big boy like Kakko with his size right now. It's terribly frustrating as the NJD would have been better off taking Kakko in 2019 and winning the 2020 lottery instead of the 2017 and having Laf right now. COOL-E was another gem from the Rags in the 2020 draft. He'll be much better than both Holtz and Mercer. Just a miserable time to be an NJD fan and a hell of a time to be a Rags fan. I have been hoping and praying this won't be the year, but I think we all need to buckle up and accept the fate of the Rags already being the team of destiny in 2024.
I couldn't have said any of this better myself! You're too good for this LOSER team DD! If you made the switch like I did then you could enjoy WINNING hockey almost every night like I have!
I've watched all of the Rags games this year RD. I know as well as anybody about the winning hockey they've been playing. I know it will continue at the rock on Saturday night. I've already sold my tickets, as I refuse to sit with a building full of Rags fans and then have to do the walk of shame out of the building. It's a shame we don't have an owner or GM dedicated to winning like the Rags do. And you just know it will be 8 past VV, unless Lindy gives him the hook at 5.
OH MY! That was...... That was certainly a strange conversation in my estimation, partner!
Well Dano, they raised a lot of good points. Wish we could go through the mixer and come out the side door as Sam and Joe!
