Actually yes totally.

You can care about whatever you want but since you love to lecture people about “what coaches do,” it would be less hypocritical of you to acknowledge that any coach would be concerned about a win when the team plays poorly. No coach is going to find it acceptable when their team plays poorly. It’s nice to come out with a win but the team has to get on track if it plays badly because those kinds of wins do not continue.

Being concerned after a sloppy or poorly played win is completely reasonable; and besides, it’s what all the coaches do, to paraphrase someone.

Coaches care mostly about winning. They get a little nutty if they win 7-5. They don't get crazy after a 3-0 win.

Quinn's primary feeling tonight isn't concern. Check out his interview.

The team has made strides. If we had played this game last month we would have lost 2-1 in a shootout.

He’s the what now?

Maybe you don’t agree with the OP that 3-0 is a poorly played win. But if the coach feels the game was poorly played, he’ll be concerned.

Your premise that it’s ok to not be concerned after a poorly played win does not match up. Most people coaches and fans alike can sense when the team is playing bad.

And it is a reason to be concerned if that were the case; because games actually aren’t played in a vacuum. Struggles or successes do bleed over into future games.

Maybe the approach here is to dispute that 3-0 was a poorly played game. I do tend to think some overreact to close games against bad teams. They are still NHL teams. Most of the Devils losses are by less than the margin tonite, for example.

Maybe if you're lucky, when we're contending for cups and you're still re-building, you guys can maintain a winning record against us.

They don't even have one now lol.

Next 3:

NYR vs NJ NJ NJ

Bos vs NYI NYI WASH

if we’re ever going to close the gap it’s going to be because of what happens right here.

It'll likely come down to what the teams do against Boston and NJ the rest of the way.

We have 5 games left against those 2, Boston has 7.
