this is a completely random q: do most people hate our Anthem singer? I really enjoy him but I always hear people horrified by his renditions lol .

I think that he's good. He's got a lot of range and he stays in-tune most of the time, though I do think that he flourishes too much at the end. There's way worse out there.

Where did the name Rongos come from?

i was drafted to the rangers the year they went to the finals during our bandwagon draft. in my intro post on their board, i used rags as a shorthand and they told me that was bad and wrong, so i proposed rongos instead and that seemed to be agreeable to all involved parties

I don't much care for the anthem singer but then I don't much care for the anthem being sung at sporting events at all. If its gonna be done I'd prefer it to be straightforward and not a showcase of one's vocal range

okay these comments make sense about the 'flourishes' etc lol. I'm black and a black church girl at that, so I'm used lot of 'theatrics' in songs lol. Part of me was wondering if was a sort of cultural/song preference issue, because technically I couldn't see anything egregiously off in his singing.

One of my favorite Simpsons scenes is this, and me and my fam laugh hysterically at it b/c we relate so much lololol:
