One thing about Shesterkin is that he's still working and improving his technique.

In the KHL, he used to get low and wide to follow the play through traffic, but it would give him problems with cross-ice passes and allow for some top-shelf snipes. Now, he's somewhere in the middle, more effective at reading the play, and he has the reflexes to quickly drop and seal the ice while keeping his glove hand ready to go for higher shots.

We're talking prime Lundqvist-level reflexes.

He's also more discerning about his overlap technique, and he's always ready to push off the post.
