I mean, it’s possible, kind of hard to say if it will happen this far outAny chance he can get the 10 game look next season, if he has a great season this year in juniors and if Miller stays in school next season?

No Staal?I have a good feeling about him and Zac Jones.
Hoepfully a few years from now
Miller-Trouba
Robertson-Fox
Jones-Lundkvist
Doesn’t he get his signing bonus when he signs? That's true but he could do that without the ELC. So it's still a big question mark to me why they signed him now. The timing is just weird

Yeah this is weird. With all the guys we have on the left side we should be slow cooking Robertson surprised we signed him this early.
I feel like this happens fairly oftenHe does. That's the only significance here. But why would a team sign a player early just for the signing bonus to be paid out? The timing just makes no sense for the Rangers

Feels just like a big vote of confidence, I’m not sure that it needs to make senseYou see ELCs being offered near the end of the season to make sure they're slide eligible. But that's with 19-year olds due to the CBA rules on slides. For an 18-year old junior player, it makes 0 sense

I don't think this changes the timeline at all...he'll most likely stay in edmonton this year and next and then turn pro as a 20 year old...i'd love to be able to delay him a bit to stagger the ELCs but the 2 years to sign a junior player will prevent that.

no not necessarily time wise more so in terms of adding a contract to your 50 so soon. Doesn’t seem like there is any reason to rush. Kid isn’t going anywhere

well I don't think it counts toward the 50 contracts if he is back in juniors and it slides...so that only shifts if he's in the NHL next year and if he's that good at 19 i'll learn to live with it lol
According to Capfriendly the contract isn't exempt from counting towards the limit of 50
I didn't think any slide years counted
