Sounds like more rain this weekend. Warming again though. Really slowing down my sales on golf and baseball. I'm the only guy driving around town with a choice of $2500 worth of bats for the guy who even looks at me funny.

Alas yes it's time for a wax, which is counterintuitive to the above. Can't do both. Other than that no hiccups on the Tahoe front. 2nd place so far on that pool btw 👌
NICE! When I took a quick glance at it a couple weeks ago I immediately eyeballed Taylor Hall. Looks like he would've been a very good choice for Carolina, especially in the tier he was in.

I'm looking to golf NEXT Sunday, so hopefully whatever rain we get next week comes and goes and gives us a decent weekend. Would be glorious to rip the Chevelle through back roads, play 18, then tear off for lunch

On the way back from Maine yesterday I saw a Lamborghini Murcielago.

Then an Aventador.

Then a frigging Aventador SVJ (they made less than 1000 of these and go for probably $700K or more.)

Must have been a "we have more money than you" meetup somewhere.

Didn't see any of those but I did cross a Fiero still on the street and a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Reminds me of the old Eagle Talon's (which would be cool)

Saw like a 96 cavalier today. Not even the cool kind (z24) just a shitty one with the rear window cowling 😅

So the weirdest thing happened yesterday. On my first drive of the day, I got up to 50 kmph or so and could tell I was still in 2nd. It was a very nice day here so my brain started thinking something was off like a temp sensor. I'm scanning the dash quickly and wayyy down in the corner the tow/haul light is on. I'm like wtf!? This mode has worked....NEVER!! In 8 years I've never diagnosed why the system doesn't operate via the shift stalk button. But now I know it works somehow and I kinda liked the shift points and rpms.

Next start up the system was off again 😅

I always wanted a Fiero, real bad. All through high school and college i had my eyes out for one. My mechanic at the time (god rest his soul) told me if I ever bought a Fiero that he refused to touch it, and said i should just buy an mr2. To this day I want a fiero.

Had a friend in high school with a late 80s z24, v6 and a 5 speed. Insanely fun little car. Not a tire burner by any means, but just a really fun and great looking car. Especially for a Chevy at that time

You ever cross any sleeper Chevettes? Good lord I've seen some things stuffed in those that don't belong.

I recall a chevette 20 years ago, but I walked passed this car often and one day I looked inside...15,000 org miles. Thing was still mint

My Chevelle woke up with a dead battery last week. Was reading 4 volts. Put a trickle charger on it and it wouldn't push beyond 10.5 volts, so I'm thinking its got a dead cell. Put a 40amp charger on it and it shot up to 14 volts within a couple minutes. Started it, drove it over to my garage and left a trickle charger on it. Also noticed a serious oil leak as I walked out of the driveway. Not good. Saw a little puddle between the valve cover and intake, so I'm hoping something just needs to be tightened a bit. That 350 crate is HUMMING in there so I'm thinking all the vibration just loosened 'er up a little. I don't know, does that even happen? I'm a little nervous. Will probably take it out in a few days, we have some serious rain on the way.

Kia CEL continues off and on for a day or two at a time. Pissing me off. 2021 with 73k on the clock, still getting over 40mpg, all the comfort and tech features I could ask for. But something isn't sitting right with me lately. I don't think I will get rid of it any time soon (it's been paid off for a few years now) but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't starting to browse. Now that I've gone hybrid, I don't know if I can go back. The new CRV hybrid is looking mighty fine to me these days, but I'm not sure if I still want 3 rows or if 2 rows with a cargo hold will suffice. Ideally, I'd rip a larger hybrid sedan, but I do make decent drives with the kids every now and then. Single Charlie would have already bought a Cadillac by now. Damn kids.

Gotta back that beauty all the way into the garage!
Was a '69 btw. Guy bought a bat off me and turns out he lived around the corner.

Your Chevelle I could absolutely see needing a re-torque. Especially anything sitting on bushings or seals. Bushings settle...gaskets soften etc.

Your CEL sounds like something is sticking. Maybe a relay or solenoid. Think EVAP solenoid...

I hope it's something lame like the evap solenoid, back pressure sensor, egr position sensor...something along those lines. I don't think the shop would ever admit to it, but I have a funny feeling that they damaged something when the first did the valve cover gasket and botched the job, damaging a fuel rail and a fuel pump bracket along the way. Especially if oil has been splashing all over a sensor, yeah I could see it pushing a fault code off and on.

In today’s adventures

Chevelle started up with zero signs of any electrical issues. Breaks traction with the slightest push. Definitely leaking oil, pretty sure it’s the oil pan at this point.

CEL on the Kia continues its few days on few days off. Right now it’s off.

Mother in law purchased a new Mazda CX30, trading in her CX3. Pretty sure she got hosed and I feel bad about it. But she’s very happy so I’ll let it slide. They discounted the car a couple hundred bucks and applied $2500 in manufacturer rebates. I think she did well on her trade at least.
