I'm trying to find out some info about the two voided picks from the 11th round: #227 by Edmonton and #230 by Calgary. Somehow I ended up down a small rabbit hole.

I'd actually agree with the Nedved scouting report. He was a lot taller than Gretzky but his on ice mechanics actually looked a lot like him.

I think The Hockey News draft preview said something similar about Jagr. I don't know if he developed more 'flash' after being drafted or if they just had bad information.

One avenue I might pursue, as longshot as it may be, is Soviets requiring a certain number of pro games to be eligible. I don't recall all the details, but i'm reminded of the Pavel Bure incident right around this time...

The picks may have been forfeited as a result of events during Oilers/Flames home & home games on Jan 7th and 9th 1990. Specifically the three fights between Brown and Grimson.
