@MrBrightside thought you may find it interesting that rumbunter is now totally out on the FO.

Like I listened to some of this podcast and it's basically circling the depths of despair and misery.

We need 2-3 guys to have big Septembers at the MLB level. Even if it's against half-callups. All fingers/toes crossed that it's 3/4 of Cruz, Hayes, Suwinski and Castro. Maybe throw Bae in there.
Record matters not but until we prove that we can develop good players there is deservedly no faith from the fanbase. Even those inclined to understand a rebuild/small market cycles.

I went to a Curve game this weekend. It was really fun.

Endy is clearly their best player and might be the best prospect in the system. The starter Luis Ortiz has excellent stuff but spotty command. Gonzales looked pretty lost at the plate but I guess his numbers since have been fine. Sample size of 1. Either way, I really enjoyed the game.
my wife and I love minor league games. Pay 14 bucks to sit behind home plate and Watch good baseball in under 3 hours. Erie, Akron and Altoona. All solid

Any chance the Pirates can claim Jesus Aguilar and release VanMeter and let Chavis be your relief guy at 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or just let Aguilar DH? Anything to get VM out of here.

Crazy deal for Rodriguez in Seattle, but I love to see he's staying here for a long time.

I think Rodriguez is fantastic and would probably trade the entire current team for him.

That said, like Preller Dipoto is a GM who loves to make headlines and moves. I simply don't see this one as necessary at this time. Maybe it is to galvanize the team into the post-season.

But I look at the surplus value here and I don't see a lot in the pre-FA years. And the big downside of potential injury.

Not sure how anyone objectively wouldn’t be out. This may be the worst Pirates team I’ve ever seen. And there’s a lot of competition

That ball was destroyed. Going out on a limb and guessing he's our best chance at a long term mashing 1B. 21 year old with 20+ homers in AA will get some eyes.

Yeah I've got him in the mix with Henry Davis & Matt Gorski as the other options.

Very relieved to see Gorski coming back this week, I think he's a guy that could get you a couple WAR working the outfield & the infield.

It's become quite clear this month that Endy Rodriguez is our Catcher of the future, maybe even by next June. Not only is he the best hitter in the system, but his work behind the plate has taken a massive leap forward. Seem to recall you were on him 1st here.

Caught this free article TW wrote today and thought you'd enjoy the part on Priester near the end.

“I’ve always thrown two fastballs,” said Priester. “That started in high school. We were tinkering with just throwing the four seam last year, and ended up bringing back the two seam, and have had a lot of success. It helps the four seam play a little bit better, because it’s not an elite four seam, but the sinker is elite. Both will play off each other. Especially if we use them in the right way. Both of those pitches have been big for me in professional baseball.”

Lol this nothing Soto and Otanhi will surpass this deal
That's what he's saying...

I've caught about 10 innings this week. It's hard to watch, as it was expected to be at the end of the teardown phase. I do expect much better next year.

As I seem to be one of the only ones not totally beat down by the end of the tear down, thought I'd share my perspective on what I expect to see mid-season next year if they don't spend again this off-season.

There's no guarantees, but it's encouraging IMO. A bunch of guys are almost ready.

That rotation is not good. And I think we would still be better off with Cruz in right field and newman and Gonzalez up the middle.

Why is this a thing? I can't wait to have an entire infield that hits a total of 20 HR with 75 RBI, and a combined .255 AVG, and why bother with this stupidity now, does this mean we're not going to see anyone called up?
