That is a steal of a win with Brault starting and the bullpen going 5 innings. Nice to see the offense actually score runs.

Players getting healthy making a difference...Polanco starting to settle in. Marte as well. The top 2 from last year to go with Bell whos been our best player. This offense could actually be our best in awhile...

OF - Polanco, Marte, Reynolds, Melky, and CD when healthy.

1B - Bell . If he keeps this up that would make this lineup better than what we saw even during playoff years.

Question marks are Catcher...Diaz hasnt bounced back yet but was solid last year. He should be fine. Cant imagine Cervelli going out like this in his contract season. He should pick it up too.

2B - Frazier not as good as second half of last season but should be.

3B - Moran/Kang. Yeah we need Hayes to start raking in Indy.

Should see improvements from Diaz, Cervelli, and Frazier but Melky regresses a little. Which wont affect them much if Reynolds keeps up his play and Polanco/Marte are back from their injuries.

Didnt Mention Tucker, will probably see ups and downs for a while...that will be fine if at least 2 of Cervelli/Diaz , Frazier, Moran/Kang get it together.

That win feels like we stole one.

Masterfully done by Clint Hurdle with pinch-hitting for Brault with Melky. We have to give credit where it's due. Winning 1/2 with Brault-Kingham pitching is already a victory.

Could say we stole 4 of the last 6(won 5 of last 6). That makes up for some bad losses we had.

With these injuries, gonna need to continue this with the schedule coming up. This is almost when we went on that 14-32 stretch. 4 game series against Cards, Dbacks, and 4 against Padres. Could easily go 3-8 there. Id take 5-6.

I still find it crazy that the Pirates are 16-6 with Marte in the lineup and are 1-8 with him injured. Marte hasn't been that crazy good this year, but the team is light years better with him than without him for some reason.

Correlation =/= causation ;)

I was looking at the standings this morning and the division is on fire, wow! Only the Reds are under ,500.

Considering all the wasted leads and injuries, we have to be happy about the current record.

Nice f***ing job Feliz. How the f*** do you walk 3 with a four run lead? Disgusting.

I honestly blame Kingham more than anyone for this loss. Sure, Feliz and Lyons gave up 7 of the 9 runs, but they desperately needed Kingham to go deeper due to Brault getting the early hook yesterday. He only went 4 innings while being super inefficient, it's exposing a tired bullpen that had to compensate for Brault getting pulled early yesterday.

Well, still doesn't excuse Hurdle not yanking Feliz after giving up 3 walks.

Brault didn't get the hook yesterday because he was performing poorly. I don't know whether it was always the plan to have Brault and Kingham only pitch 4 inning, but it seems that way. Either way, they're not to blame for the loss. The bullpen for sucking and Hurdle for inexplicably giving a mile long leash are to blame.
