OT - NO POLITICS Rainy Weekends Always Get Me Down edition

Consumer Reports liked them

Yep, we researched all of them. Then a plumber/ appliance friend of ours highly recommended Speed Queen
. Said he rarely ever gets calls on them. Plus he said since made 100% here in Wisconsin I believe if ever needed parts easy to obtain. Its not fancy but works like a tank.

Some may remember last summer me and the Bride cruised out of Boston to Bermuda. She brought up how relaxing and fun it was last year.
So, as I agreed, last night we booked it again. Just different ship from the NCL line. The Jewel.
Now can’t wait until August.

So much better than having to fly somewhere.

Are you still doing the Alaska cruise?

It may sound insensitive but if I was to go on a cruise again it would be with New Englanders. I went on one out of New Orleans, never again.

I glazed all of this last night and now it is in the queue to have its final fire! I am so excited to see how it all comes out. I also just bought some new glazes including hot pink.

*sorry about my toes.
** The bright orange bowl will actually be opal lustre with a light pink tint once fired.

In response to your post in the previous version of this thread referencing my trip to NYC. Thanks for the information on the highway. We are hopefully going to Old Town in Maine to visit a friend I haven't seen very much in the last 40 years. He just turned 90 earlier this year.

We met plenty of New England folk on a Virgin cruise through the Caribbean. It was a really good mix. Lots of Europeans, lots of Southerners, and lots of New Englanders. We got along with just about everybody we encountered the entire week. I think it helped being that it's adults only too.
Not this year. Still on the bucket list though. Maybe next Summer.
I would love to cruise Alaska, but I'm super nervous about the whole thing. The flight and potential for rough waters freak me out. After the success we had on the last cruise though, it's super tempting.

I have been on 4 cruises and the Alaska one was the best.

We have been on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Princess...Celebrity was the best IMO

The flight is long.
But an inner passage cruise in Alaska is no way rough seas. Pretty much have land relatively close on both sides coming and going.

went candlepin bowling last night at the new American Flatbread in Worcester.
bowled a 97, 114 and 100. not bad for not playing since before covid.
The pizza was so good too.
Kinda sad 20 years ago it was once the spot of Lucky Dog music hall and before that Sir Morgans Cove.

Yes then take 95 unless you want to do sight seeing along rt 1.

A good option would be to take 95 to Portland, then 295 to Freeport (LL Bean flagship) then jump on RT1. You will get alot of Maine views in Bath, Wiscassett, Damariscotta, Rockport, Camden, Belfast, etc.

Our lilacs are in full bloom, the scent on the breeze is wonderful, I cut some to bring inside.
I have some weird condition that started in October that causes me to smell smoke, it stays for several weeks and then goes away for a week or two. It drives me nuts, so having lilacs in the house is lovely since it helps take the smokiness away.
