I think it's mostly that Rod really values guys who 'do things the right way' in his mind, and doesn't like telling the guys that do it that way that it's not enough. He doesn't want to be the guy to tell somebody like Andersen (or Staal) that what they're doing isn't cutting it, especially when that guy is a loyal and hardworking vet coming off of injury. He really, really hates the idea that somebody would lose their job due to an injury. In his mind, Andersen has always been the starter, and you start the starter in the playoffs, or it's an insult to him. He hates pulling goalies for the same reason, and in his first years as a coach, he basically *never* did it. He's still far more reluctant than most coaches.

I was fortunate that I was able to go for free. Friend of mine had some connections to a luxury box owner.
I coach a Bantams team out here in Las Vegas and about half my kids would kick Vincent Trocheck's shit in.
