Why couldn't he do this before trade deadline? We could have traded for a player, if we knew he is out of "business"
He f***s us second time in a row in the most crucial time.

Players like him rarely hold well long-term. Maybe this is blessing for us.We can’t get rid of Nuke tho he’s gonna get sober and end up a monster on another team
I’m sorry, but I don’t feel ‘sorry’ for Val.
f*** sakes. He’s already had his chance. This is the second time he’s derailed a playoff run. Selfish. Plain and simple.
The Avs did everything in their power to protect this guy from punishment. Likely helping him avoid fines and maybe jail time. They gave him the help he needed and he f***ing threw it right back in their face.
Good riddance. I’m sure he’ll look brilliant for 30 or so games in his next stop before he does something stupid again.
Who cares? We can’t get rid of Nuke tho he’s gonna get sober and end up a monster on another team
But nothing beats Miami. Nuke is gonna be paying to play next year there.Coke is also very popular, and good, in Denver…
I just don't see it unless Dallas also loses a star player somehow. We needed Nuke's big frame for dirty goals. We have no one else like that except.... Landy....It actually might for them as well. Honestly, a hit like this might bring the rest together.
Exactly. We basically lost key player twice in a row in the playoffs. It's not something we can accept. He needs to go.Who cares?
He's signed for 6 more years. He's not going anywhere man. Hopefully he gets sober and gets back to the teamWe can't even LTIR him right? It's just dead cap? If so, we gotta terminate it.
Of course true, but we are talking about the team. He can continue being on LTIR or whatever and get help, but I don't think the team can rely on him anymore. Sad but true.We can be pissed off all we want and this will hurt the Avs for sure, but if the guy is really dealing with an addiction, all you can do is hope he gets help and beats it. Addiction is not an easy thing to over come
Welp, good thing we probably get the worst possible option: bothI would have preferred an Avs loss over a nuke loss
A listless game 7 loss where the outcome is never in doubt. The MacKinnon special.Ahh yes a good old fashioned game 7 loss.
Bet hard for Dallas.Team will be demoralized with the Nuke news and we are going to get absolutely destroyed tonight.
I’m going with a 6-1 or 7-2 Stars win.
Season is over in a couple of nights in Dallas.
Will be the first time we see this version of the Avs lose a series in less than 6Team will be demoralized with the Nuke news and we are going to get absolutely destroyed tonight.

Problem is there just aren't players like Nuke in the league. I guess we could have gone after Guentzel and burn through the rest of our draft capital? Why couldn't he do this before trade deadline? We could have traded for a player, if we knew he is out of "business"

I'm not talking about a buy-out. Contract termination will set us free of his contract. The team just needs a good enough reason to terminate the contract. Saying that Nuke broke the contract by getting suspended for drug use would probably be good enough. He's signed for 6 more years. He's not going anywhere man. Yup, I agree. Not sure how you give him another chance next season without knowing for sure that he’s all better and it won’t happen again. It’s a tough situationOf course true, but we are talking about the team. He can continue being on LTIR or whatever and get help, but I don't think the team can rely on him anymore. Sad but true.
I truly hope he beats his demons. He is unbelievable hockey player.

Yeah, usually this happens when player has already dipped in performance, but Nuke is freaking beast still, but HOW LONG? We know players start to show their age more 28+, especially players with substance problems.. Nuke is around that age. His habits will catch up to him soon.Yup, I agree. Thread is live and I’m not caught up—what do the different stages mean?Stage 3 means that this season's earlier assistance was round 2 (at least as some players have stage 1 multiple times... Chucky being one).
