BTW, is Chatfield good or what? Another solid 21 minutes yesterday, always good aggressive plays to close gaps.

Still signed for two more years at 3M$... great development, great contract. He has become a personal favorite for me. Hopefully he will get some national recognition as we move along in these playoffs.
I had a similar thought, he had a ton of really smart and aggressive pinches that really helped sustain o zone possession and momentum. He has the tools to be a successful reactive defender so he’s not afraid to push at times, and he confidently and consistently makes recovery plays if and when he gets burned.

Definni
Absolute snoozer of a goal to end an absolute snoozer of a game
Definitely the weirdest immediate reaction to a playoff OT game-winning goal I've ever seeen. Goal goes in - everybody stands there for a moment like it got deflected into the stands - then finally Stall puts his arms up with everyone else in the picture just standing there with no reaction - and utter silence in the arena

For all the hand-wringing around Gustav Forsling (who WASN'T what he is now when he was playing for us/Charlotte)...we ended up doing the same to Vancouver with Chatmandu! His skating helps him immensely so when he does make a boo-boo, he can often get back to cover for it (unlike Burns). I think he's genuinely developed into a solid overall #4 d-man

It is f***ing hilarious...should also pretty easily be an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty (seriously, Aho probably has to douse that thing with alcohol after Wilson did who knows what with it)
For real I don’t see how that isn’t a penalty but there is precedent just like Marchand undoing Williams helmet back in the bubble which also wasn’t called. It makes no sense to me how that’s allowed but good on aho for completely not engaging in his dumbassery

I believe that falls under the “boys being boys” exception in the rule book.

Me sleeping after winning game 1 and after reading the disappointment of HFpeople who expected a better match than they imagined.

The main board discourse is an interesting case study in sports psychology. What makes you feel better the morning after:

Playing like ass and getting blown out
Playing like ass and losing a close one
Playing like ass and winning
Playing great and losing
Playing great and winning a close one
Playing great and winning a blowout

Canes better have their collective heads on a swivel Thursday night for sure…
yeah, game 2's have had some destructive hockey + Carbury called out his team's physicality.....I suspect an out of control game.

I hope Janky had just a virus and can come back on Thursday versus putting in JR. Need his size.
