It's too bad because she really knows hockey and her written articles are really good. I told my wife I think she over emphasizes her words for some reason.

I can't really pin it down to any one or two things myself, there's just something about the way she talks that makes me not like listening to her no matter what she says. Which is a shame, because she's normally saying things that are good.

Doc Emrick was kind of similar for me, although with him I could pin it down to just that I thought his voice was very grating. His colorful vocabulary was at least sometimes interesting (sometimes leaving you feeling he was picking random synonyms out of a thesaurus to describe play), and he always called the game enthusiastically. A bit apples to oranges though, since Doc did play by play.
