Callahan scored most of his goals on odd man rushes, deflections and around the net. I'd say his hands were an asset when he was here.
His hands were decent in traffic but carrying the puck up the ice was not a strong suit. He had what I liked to call at the time, Callahands.
Kreiders sort of the same way, except hes elite in traffic.

He just made the adult WC team...how can they not put him on the WJC team?
edit - Just saw he originally made the team in the Winter, so I guess he's pretty much a lock. Excited to see him play next month! Aug 9 vs the Czechs, mark it on your calendars.

I would say he knows hockey pretty well but he’s particular to types. Definitely values skill over physical play. That said he pretty much does guys most likely to be drafted high. He wasn’t a fan of Schneider if I remember right though.

Damn right. I have his ceiling as Marchand-esque, maybe a Copp/Armia/Lehkonen middle ground, and his floor as Darren Helm. And as a free asset, obviously I prefer the high end, but I’m okay with any of them. I can’t see him not being a player. One of the safest picks, with some upside, in my opinion..

It's not their scout. "NHL Scout" is quoted 3 times, and it's at least 2 different scouts, maybe 3 or 4, based off the things they say.

Wasn’t Sykora a projected 1st round pick just last year? I know it is unlikely but if he has a good camp, chances he signs and goes to Hartford? Anisumov was also a 2ed round pick that went straight to Hartford. I feel the smaller ice surface will benefit Sykora.

He very much a riser.
After doing some research on his club and seeing that Medicine Hat has his rights, I hope he stays where he is. I do agree that he has a game that should translate well to the small ice, but let him get his minutes back home in a bigger role. He worked his way up the lineup and they aren't shy about playing their young guys.
Love the pick. Berard and Sykora can be two puck hounds in all three zones that can tranlate well to the NHL.
