Yes. People use this as a "logical cudgel" all the time.

Team A loses in round 1: "I told you so! They didn't have that IT factor."
Team B loses in round 2: "I told you so! Their stars don't play well when the games matter the most."
Team C loses in round 3: "I told you so! Their core is unproven."
Team D loses in the finals: "I told you so! They're a regular season team."

I'll always bet the field versus any team.
