He's a warrior but he's a warrior that is held together by duct tape so often. Good for him for playing hurt and playing well but it still seems he's going to constantly be playing that way and it will probably get worse. I'll be interested to hear what he played through and if he needs to go under the knife.

Felt bad for Markstrom , he played his guts out and his team quit on him. That Cat 5 level of intensity we piled up on them was a beautiful thing and something we have not had in a PO series in a while.
I feel good about curb stomping the craps.

As elated as we all are with a series win there’s no way to paper over the glaring holes on this team as far as winning a Cup is concerned. Gotta fix goaltending over the summer…

Given we KNEW goalie was an issue last summer, I don't thave much faith that gets addressed this summer.
Our front office is convinced the rest of our pieces is good enough that we can get by with the kind of goaltending we have gotten

There's not a lot of exceptional goaltending in this league right now. There's not a ton of prolonged goalie health. Even the elite guys are often getting smoked. There's no easy fixes to be found out there.
I'm sure they'll explore as many possibilities as they can to improve but it won't be shocking if we end up down the same or similar road.
As for the Cup, they're not a perfect contender this season but they're still a contender.

Yeah I don't have us getting past the caps but who knows. We sure can't do it with PK in net playing like he did last night.

I wouldn’t be so sure the Habs/Caps series is over. That Montreal team reminds me of the resurgent Canes from 7 years ago.
Nah. They didn't quit, they were gassed. This game's overtime was almost the exact opposite of our OT loss to them in game three and we wouldn't say our team quit on Freddy. Probably hard to get the sleep/rest you need on the road for games like this.

They kicked tires on Gibson and inquired on Demko this season. With Andersen pretty much aging out and the cap space they have, I’d be shocked if they don’t upgrade in goal this summer.

Yeah, I don't think it gets fixed this year. Nobody available that is any better that what we have. Maybe if Swayman and Boston have a final falling out over the summer and he becomes available and we have a lot of futures to move, but otherwise there is nothing.
Re : Devils D. Keefe certainly shortened his bench giving Casey limited minutes. Wow, at Dumoulin’s minutes and shifts. Canes highest number of shifts was……hold for it, Burns at 40.

I would be shocked. Who is available that is an upgrade on Anderson's ability AND availability? Neither Gibson or Demko qualify as they are on the shelf as long or longer than Freddy. Nobody left as a UFA worth a damn. All I got left for hopes is that Swayman and Boston are done with each other and Boston looks to reset. Otherwise, I don't see anyone available.
