He is under rated and taken for granted by a lot of Canes fans because John Forslund.

Mike is pretty f***ing good and I no longer miss JF. In all honesty Mike changes up his calls and moves forward. As great as JF is if you watch a Kraken game you will hear all the same shit he said here for years "That's hockey baby!" Again JF is top tier but now that Mike has some years under his belt, I wouldn't trade him for JF.

Mike will probably never make all time great but he's good I don't watch enough to compare him to many but he's better than most of the nationals. Bucchi for 1.

Just watched another highlight of Slavin's goal. Honestly, the steal might've been better than the shot, and the shot was pretty great, if maybe a bit lucky considering the angle.

Pretty sure he must practice that shot. I've seen him score from there at least once in the playoffs recently and attempt it as well. But, yeah, all 'bad angle' shots do require a bit of luck.

In Atlanta we have two Fanduels, a South and a Southeast. Some nights, for example, across the two channels, I’ll get Braves/Canes. Or Braves/Preds. Or Preds/Canes.

Today? Both channels are simulcasting the Braves game. lol. TBS it is.

I’ve come to love Mike and enjoy his style but he still just makes way too many factual mistakes in his call to be considered a great announcer. Like mixing up players of different positions, handedness, way different jersey numbers, etc. getting penalty calls completely wrong while Tripp is on top of it. Again, love the guy but those are some pretty bad mistakes still happening for a PBP guy
