They need to win a round for me to be okay with the amount of assets Guerin has burned this season. Even then, it’s still a lot of assets spent.

Out: ‘25 1st, ‘26 2nd, ‘27 2nd, ‘26 3rd, ‘26 4th, ‘26 6th, Hunt, Khus, Lauko

In: Jiricek, ‘25 5th

Seems a bit odd to base the Jiricek trade on the outcome of a single playoff series he's not playing in.

Just a lot of assets out the door this year with the only long-term asset being Jiricek. Jiricek was a perfectly fine target in a vacuum, but Guerin needs to be careful with how many futures he’s given away.

Assuming we’re going to go after rentals next year, we’re going to quickly end up in a similar position that we were in under Fletcher.

If Guerin signs either of Brazeau or Nyquist, he needs to go.

I think we’re well past that with ole Billy

If it's for the pressbox FWD, league min, no clause added contract I wouldn't be upset. There are only 2 FWD prospects that I would consider as knocking on the door to the NHL.

still trying to wrap my head around why it was necessary to trade two pending RFAs, both of whom are better players than the guy he got back, and give up a pick. If it was a cap dump, ok. But this ain't that.

similar to the Jiricek trade.. he may turn out but why give up a player who's already about as good as the player you're getting?

Maybe Brazeau will break somebody's eye socket in the playoffs and we can all cheer
I have absolutely zero issues with the Jiricek trade. We gamble a sure fire D that's likely a 3rd pairing, maybe poor man 2b, for his career for a complete boom or bust d man. That's a decent bet in my book.

Brazzer tho.... nope. Terrible. I don't think Khus is going to amount for much in the long run. But I'd still take him (and lauko and no name 6th round pick) 100% of the time.

I just don’t see room for them unless Guerin signs absolutely no one this offseason.

Kap - Rossi - Zucc
Boldy - Yurov - UFA (Boeser)
Ohgren - Ek - Hartman
Foligno - Gaudreau - Trenin
Hinostroza

This is more or less what I see but I think Yurov is gonna be the wing and the UFA is gonna be Nelson.

They’re going to trade Rossi for ~15th pick and sign both: Nelson $25 / 4 and Boeser $50 / 7.

It's great how the best center on the team is the 3C in this lineup.

Hinostroza seems like Pitlick to me. Good waiver pickup at the time, served his purpose, but not someone I'd keep around. I thought he was younger than 31 tbh. At least he's a RHS.

If Nyquist shows up in the Playoffs I think GMBG will try and keep him another year.

I am hoping Haight is ready for a few games, if not more than a few. Same with Heidt.

I prefer a lineup that spreads out the talent. Obviously Ek is the best center of that group, but Ek is a player that’s always worked on whatever line you put him on. That type of versatility is something you take advantage of to open up line matchups for the rest of the team. You can flip flop Yurov/Ek too if things didn’t work. I just think rookies are better isolated on a line with two vets.

Hinostroza feels easy to keep as the 13th forward. He’s already signed and he’s cheap. Think he fits in as a fill-in on any line you’d throw him on. At the end of the day though, it’s the 13th forward, so it doesn’t matter much.

Agree on that being the other option, it’s either Nelson or Boeser. I don’t think Guerin is going to do anything beyond those two since “blowing things up” at this point would be an indictment on the roster he’s constructed up to this point.

The only scenarios where I see Guerin making substantial changes are if one or both of the following happens:

1. We get swept

2. Kap refuses to extend
