So reddit is doing this thing during the offseason where each of the 30 NHL teams gets "roasted", where posters who support all teams can step up and get their best digs in whenever a team's in the hot seat (and not get them deleted by mods). Islanders were up today, so here are some of the top burns against our beloved Islanders.

Islanders called the Coliseum the barn because there were animals in the stands and jackasses on the ice.

Just so everyone knows, DiPetro is still technically an Islander. Milbury jokes are all relevant and will be for about the next 12 years.

The Isles have a unique relationship with their fan base. Typically, teams will have a few down years and then spend a few years that have their fans wondering "can they win it all this year?"

Meanwhile, the Islanders decided to win all their Cups at once and never let their fans have to deal with that uncertainty. Bold move.

I'm not sure I can roast the Isles - anyone who provides my team [Rangers] with three extra home games a year is alright with me.

The islanders are so irrelevant that they're the 3rd priority in their home building - first comes the nets, second comes various concerts

Those were actually pretty good, as it definitely helps to have a sense of humor when you're an Islanders fan, but being able to see the Islanders win the Cup during all 4 of my high school years, makes all of these easier to laugh at, but hopefully we can win our 5th in the near future, so the entire fan base can have the last laugh and maybe die in peace some day
