Quinn says he's "proud" and "not embarrassed"

Ok Pat I understand that you have to say your rpoud of your team even if they or you did a rotten wretched job. But dont add a line and say you're not embarrassed. How can you not be? In 6 games your team got shut out three times! Your team made Martin Gerber look like Terry Sawchuk and Paul Dipietro look like Mike Bossy. But yet you aren't embarrassed? Thank God you'll be unemployed by 2010.Then again he plays Aki Berg, Nik Antropov and Wade Belak on a regular shift and thinks nothing is wrong with that probably wont think anthing wrong with this either. This is dumb Canadian mentality. Come in no better than 5th while you are heavy favourites and not be embarrassed?

It's been bumpy terrain for head coach Pat Quinn, too, who must surely have believed that Turin, despite a nation's anxious expectations, would be a less arduous bench assignment than back in Toronto with the swooning Maple Leafs. Looking at this line-up, any coach would salivate.

And yet, for all his line juggling, Quinn couldn't find the right alchemy to propel that offence.

He feels rotten about that. "The real bottom line is that you have to come together as a team and we didn't do that.''

Yet Quinn was not about to send the players back to the NHL with a scolding.

"I would want them to know I appreciate how they all contributed their time to come here. I'm proud of them. They worked hard, but there are no guarantees."

Big Phil would not know much about not pointing fingers.Quinn declined to point any which after the last 24 hours is refreshing. I am no Quinn fan but he kept whatever bad things he had to say to himself.

Quinn is an idiot. I am glad he coaches a team that will never win another cup. I say Don Cherry for coach in 2010. First 2 picks would be McGratton and Boogaard. YES Fighting in international play. I love it!!!!

I read that Pat Quinn had pancakes for breakfast.

How could the idiot eat pancakes when everyone knows he should have waffles. I mean thats why he sucks so much, he won;t even order waffles when given the chance. The Leafs suck becaues of this.

I also read that he doesn't pack carry on luggage for his flights. What a moron!

Oh and he drinks water from the tap and not from a bottle. What an idiot, this guy is a loser who doesn't know anything.

I agree with Quinn. There are no guarentees.

People are expecting too much.
Fact is, Canada is extremely overrated on the big ice surface. In an NHL style tourney (CC, WC) nobody's better than Canada; but on the international ice, they are painfully average. In fact, they're 5-5-1 against the other top 6 nations in 'best on best' olympic play.

Classy of Quinn not to point fingers and to thank the players for their contributions. He knows the crap they and their families are going to face.
