Chose “Leetch and it’s not even close” because it isn’t at this point in time. I expect Hughes to narrow the gap as his career goes on, but I doubt he can actually overtake him.
How can the gap get narrowed when the data is already done and collected?

Probably because most people just read the title and not the original post.

Anyway I agree with those who say that Makar is much more similar to Leetch than Hughes is.

Leetch at the end of the stated time period in the OP would basically be last season’s Makar.

Elite offensively, average defensively.

Similar play styles too.

I’d put Hughes on that same level, but with the slight edge to Leetch.

Leetch would go on to have an even better season the next year so Hughes definitely has his work cut out for him if he wants to catch Leetch overall.

But he does have what it takes to catch Leetch all time when things are said and done if he continues on his current trajectory and stays healthy.
