Yes, the defense is horrible on paper. However, that would be true for the vast majority of teams if their top 2 dmen are injured.

Very few teams in this league actually have good depth on the blueline.

Is it true that Myers is playing top pair? If so. It suggests to me that they don't have much in the way of middle pair dmen, either.

You can't make this up, Joshua is now injured and out Week to Week.

Can we just tank this season and reroll next year? Obviously it's not our year

He was so good tonight, team looked night & day better when he was on the ice.

Unfortunately he can't play 60 mins but he's raised his game from last season, which I didn't think was possible. If he stays healthy from here on he should repeat the Norris & be a Hart finalist honestly.

Someone sneezed in Vancouver.
Canucks fans: "It is the end of the civilization as we know it".

Have you seen the chart? It's basically the end of Canucks civilization whenever Hughes isn't on the ice.

I am an actual doctor XD. As I posted in the Canucks forum thread on the game, since hes flexing at his 3rd and 4th metacarpophalangeal joints of his hand (knuckle), that splint is not likely there to stabilize that and it is too distal and inadequate to be for his carpometacarpal joint (at the wrist).

To me this is a distal 3rd and 4th metacarpal splint. Nondisplaced distal metacarpal fracture (shaft or neck) is most likely in my opinion. Thats just my best guess from seeing a single image of the dorsal aspect of his hand... but maybe someone has a pic from his palm etc.

The Canucks are nothing without him, hes the best player in all parts of the ice, but they shouldnt have him playing at all if its more than the mildest of injuries and this is all just precautionary. Worries me way too much given how many slashes to the hands he already got before he injured his hand. Unless they get young confident Petey back or trade for a defenseman to take minutes from him, the entire team is done if hes gone for an extended period. So definitely hope they arent being reckless here with their franchise player.
