Didn't realize VAN was so lacking historically in offensive D until seeing that list.

It's funny, as a kid I'd see a lot of Canucks games on the back half of HNIC double headers and at that time I thought Matthias Ohlund was one of the best offensive dmen in the NHL. Now looking on hockeydb now his numbers were quite average. If you asked me how many points he was scoring a season when I was 13 I would have guessed like 50-60

Hughes is def that good, but man thats a sad list. Hotdam
The Canucks franchise has definitely been a stranger to great defensemen during their existence. We've had some good ones, sure, but it can't be understated how much of a revelation, and a novelty really, Hughes is for this team and the fans. Not only Hughes but anyone even in the same stratosphere as an elite #1.

Given how special Hughes is, you could say this is just things evening out for us. It would be like Nashville drafting a 150+ point forward.

Hughes will end up the greatest Canucks player of all time. "If"he gets to 1000 points. Easy. Not even close.
