Thats ridiculous. You honestly think he meant to shove his mouth on to the boards and potentially lose teeth? Cmon now...

Too many people thought Patrick Kane dove when he broke his collarbone. Plenty don't understand a simple concept like weight distribution.

A major was harsh and Norris needs to protect himself better but anyone who thinks it’s embellishment should stop tapping their ankles.

Off topic - is there transparency for gambling companies to disclose the amount of action on a particular game and the direction of the bets ?

this was definitely a penalty but a game misconduct ?

It’s 2 mins. Boarding and softish, but no embellishment either.

I don’t understand how in God’s name they can call that a major and game misconduct.

I'm ok with that being 5 and a game, even though that's not usually a penalty at all when the hittee doesn't have jelly legs. Surely there will be no fine or suspension though, that would be ridiculous.

It was borderline 2/5 cause it was pretty solid cross-check against the boards. Once it was made a 5, they had to give him a Game Misconduct because of the injury sustained.

Probably will result in either nothing or a fine at most.

What’s with the thread title

Is there something in the water in Ottawa that’s making every single one of their players weak on their skates? It doesn’t seem fair that they’re forced to play in a league full of players who have normal lower body strength.

It's too bad the ref's egos were too enormous when they reviewed the call. They had to convince themselves they were right in slo motion.

Just unbelievable to be honest. The worst 5 minute major call I've ever seen and they get to see the replay and re-make the call.

Meanwhile, the Sens came away with a powerplay on this:

The hit was obviously a bad one, but it's hard to argue about who instigated the fight even if i feel like the calls on who started it is a coin-toss sometimes.
