Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knows how the quarterfinal seeding works. I understand it goes 1A - 4B, 2A-3B, 1B-4A, 2B-3A, but I was just wondering if the order of the games is also played out in that order. For example, if I was going to buy Game 22 (Quarterfinal 1) in Montreal, would it be the 1A - 4B game?

I'm just trying to gain a better understanding of which possible match ups might occur, as I would like to buy tickets.

I dont believe there is any order. Last year the first match was 2A-3B followed by 2B-3A, 1A-4B and finally 1B-4A with the late match being the hosts. Perhaps that is the order, the higher seeded clubs go during the late match, or its just how the Swedes wanted it set up.

Usually the hosts pick the time slot they wish to play which is why Sweden played the earlier match in the Semis.

I read somewhere (I think on the old TSN website) that Canada's quarterfinal game will be played in Toronto. Don't know if that helps at all.

Well last World Juniors had Canada (#1) playing Switzerland (#4) in the 3rd Quarter-Final game.

Last time that World Juniors were held in Canada, was used the old format with bye in QF for the 1st team in the group.

EDIT: Oops. I apologize. I didn't get it properly. Yes, you're right, but basically, as it was already said here, the host country should play the last QF matchup and the earlier SF matchup. Besides that, I guess there's nothing like rules that determine the time of the QF games.
