WC: Quarterfinal Pre-Game Talk

After seeing Team Canada crash and burn in the QF's for the past five years, all i want for the love of God is for this team to make it to the Semis for once. Please end this QF curse. Exiting the QF's for five straight years, even in years when they looked so dominant in the Round Robin games, has not been a good look for this country.

That being said- I like Canada, USA, Sweden and Finland to make it to the Semis .

Czech 1-0 (Finland can't score or get scored on but Czechs will get a lucky bounce just before end of regulation :P)
 
Swiss 2-1 (The silver guys of 2013 does it again)
Canada 8-1 (To easy)
Sweden 6-3 (if Sweden wins it will be because lack of D for Russia)
Czech Rep 1-0 (I believe in Czech win, but with that low numbers because of Rinne)

It would be good from a World Championship perspective to have USA and Canada in the semi finals, and having a North American rivalry in the gold medal game could hopefully give it some attention overseas as well, giving this tournament a little boost.

However, I don't see it as impossible for both Belarus and Switzerland to knock them out and it would be really funny :D
 
Well, our chances would be much better if the Czechs could somehow score under zero goals... We will probably have like half a dozen unbelievably great scoring chances and then maybe end up winning with a ridiculous bounce via three players through the traffic. So, 1-0 to Finland.

Yesterday Finns had at least three chances to send a puck into the empty net but failed. So I agree with you.

Canada vs. Belarus 5-1 i hope miracle but Canada is too strong
Sweden vs. Russia 6-2 [mod] bad defence
Finland vs. Czech Republic 2-0 very close game but Rinne make difference

Canada over Belarus 6-2 (Should be 6-0 but Smith being Smith..you know the story)
