Schneider has been exceptional
He has certainly lifted himself after that bad 1st goal. In some way he was unlucky on it, crap happens. He kind of looks like Lundqvist, in similar situations. They play behind absolute garbage teams, often allow an early softie and then play very solid.

Just like at last world champs, Ovechkin's playing terribly. If he doesn't bother showing up, wouldn't it be better to train at home? I'm sure a KHL replacement would have been able to achieve much more with the guys he plays with.

Putting Gaudreau and Kane together on a smurf line may look weird, but they're actually creating alot of chances in the Russian zone. Big ice helps them to achieve their game potential.

I don't know, US team is so skilled, but to me it just feels like they don't really care that much. The second period has been much better from them, though. I hope they can tie it up and we're going to see an interesting finish.

Still, I love this hockey more, than NHL one. Less stupid puck dumping, less useless hits, more beautiful skating, more skill overall. Of course, these teams have more superstars, than your average NHL team, but still...

Yes, I agree. The norm in the NHL is to dump and chase, with a coin flip who wins the possession. On big ice, you don't want to dump the puck unless you have to, you want to keep the puck within the team. If you want some more physical play, you could play the Finnish hybrid between the two.

But small ice just leads to constant board battles and it's not fun to watch.

I don't want to sound like a mediocre journalist, but talk about that the next goal will be crucial.
