GDT: Quarterfinal - May 23 - Finland vs Sweden

Maybe in two years but not next year. Watched like 20 Stars games this year, and Heiskanen is defo better than Klingberg overall. He is more trusted in the final minutes to play shutdown D along with Lindell.
 
I think there are much better threads to discuss player comparisons between players who aren't even playing in some other thread, in a completely different part of the forum. Get a grip. This is a GDT.

I did, which is why I think it's pretty clear Klingberg is much better than Miro right now. It's as bad of an opinion as Miro>EK.

As per usual we'll only know when the lineups are submitted an hour before the game starts. As for Hank, he didn't participate in the obligatory practice, and Garpenlöv when asked about it was very cryptic.

If Sweden can't beat this Finnish team, they have no business in this tournament anyway.

How many Finnish players would make team Sweden? 2-3 tops?

Yes, but this is Sweden - Finland and it's one game. What is obvious will still have to be earned. I hope you at least have a good car radio. Don't drive down in a ditch if Finland scores. ;)
 
Should be an interesting, low-scoring game.

Really hoping for a surprise victory over Sweden, but I think a total collapse and a loss with very ugly final score is much more likely than that.

Had Sweden cruised happily into this game, I'd agree that there is a good chance that this Finnish semi-amateur team might take them by surprise. However, Sweden just received a terrible spanking by Russia so that's not the situation. They will be alert and do not want to be schooled again.

The car has a very good radio but don't worry, I won't kill myself over some entertainment :)
 
If these teams played eachother 100 times, my guess is that Sweden would win 60, draw 20 and lose 20.

You we distribute the draws to both teams, I'll give 70/30 odds.
 
Heard someone on Vancouver radio this morning saying EP40 has some sort of stomach virus/food poisoning and is questionable for the game or wont be 100%.

Can any Sweedes verify ?
 
Wow 8 pages already and the game hasn't even begun. Heiskanen seems to be a little unknown across the border :)

Finland can win this game. Lankinen needs to play close to a perfect game and Finland needs to score. Kakko would basically have to score about 2 goals.
