Slovak high end NHL skill beats Finns in quality but they lose everywhere else in this matchup. Shot differential compared to goals is bit wild though.

I also agree that Dvorsky has been best singular player on ice. Or most visible at least.
Slovak team is badly coached and the Ds outside of Luka (who is now out injured) were just subpar with way too many individual mistakes resulting in goals against.

Dvorsky is an NHL player next year, Pekarcik a year later if he doesn't regress.

I feel like if Finland got both Dvorsky and Pekarcik we would compete for the gold against the Swedes or the US. But at the same time... If Swedes had only Dvorsky they would be even more lethal

Behind the net
Slovaks are just razor thin in quality after their strong top end. How is that wrong?
Well yeah i'll give you 1 player. "High end NHL skill beats Finland's" is a bit of a stretch, from these 2 teams i assume at most 5 players will have a significant NHL career, and that might be a stretch. But i don't think it's in favour of Slovaks if we compare the numbers.

Are people kidding me here? I haven't seen anyone mentioning Pekarcik besides myself. He's almost on the same level as Dvorsky in this game.
He moves very well for his size and reads the game quickly. Also looks pretty darn strong. And that goal was a sniping beauty.

People are sleeping on him.

I'm bullish on Pekarcik. Awesome for Blues to have both of these!

Thanks a lot Pieniniemi you f***ing idiot.
Super smart 5+20min penalty for kneeing in super smart time.
Thank god Rimpinen is still hot without him this game would be tie.

No idiotic penalties anymore Finland.

It was a clean hit. Unfortunate that the kid got hurt, but still a clean hit. If he would have rwceuved the hit directly instead of trying to evade it, he wouldn’t have been hurt. Idiotic call by the refs.

Maybe don't go in knee first if you don't want to risk this outcome. The refs called it by the book.

Helenius and Kiviharju are such letdowns for me so far.

Helenius not even close being on Dvorskys level. And Kiviharju doesn't look anything more than a 4th round pick imho.

Also, always these dumb penalties. And Kiiskinen... Needs to work on his finishing.
