I’m not sure many players on this Canadian team, or even the coaching staff themselves, can muster up any urgency let alone some desperation.

Didn’t I just read that they’ve basically cancelled all practices and haven’t been on the ice in days?

Something stinks about this team
Here is my take. If you cancel three on ice sessions in a short tourney you really want to spend as little time as possible around your players. They think they know it all and you don't see any value in being on the ice.

Dave didn't defend them in the media (not that he must but often coaches do). I would say Dave regrets taking this job and will never do it again.

Something does stink here all right. I'll be cheering for Canada as always.... I always cheer for the jersey. Some of these players are probably insufferable.. I said some, not all.

I don't think he has to worry about that.

Canada is going to deservedly lose this game

They need some major restructuring if they want to go back to being the perennial favourites

Yeah something really seems to be going on. In Cameron's media scrums after the US game he emphasized that he "can't address it" and that the players know that they are penalties. He said "it's a character thing" and then the next day that it is a good thing that the Canadian penalties were so obvious so that they couldn't be denied. A reporter tried saying that the standard with IIHF reffing is so different and Cameron immediately cut off to say no, and when the reported suggested that he isn't trying to give them an out Cameron said that yes he was trying to give them an out and that the standard is the standard.

To give Cameron credit he is right that they were all blatant penalties, and the players should not be defended for the penalties in the US game. I think we all regret that Cameron took the job though and we all surely hope that he never gets it again.

I still think that Canada probably beats the Czechs but I won't be surprised by a listless effort and multi-goal Czech win either.

This idiot coach has the obvious choice of playing Rehkopf and Martone, two of the highest scoring players in the OHL who are LINEMATES on their team, together, and he refuses to even put them in the same game. Is Dave Cameron a CIA plant?
Because Rehkopf has been trash? Come on man we've both watched the games. Coaching staff has some accountability in place for once and people still complain...

How has he been trash? Literally didn’t play the first two games and less then 8 minutes vs Germany loool. He had one bad penalty so he should be scratched? The team took 8 penalties. You’re seriously arguing against even TRYING to pair two of the highest scoring linemates in the OHL together? Ok

2 of them were taken by Rehkopf. Back to back penalties in the same period
He certainly didn't help his cause

None the less, you should play players with chemistry. Especially in short tournies
I haven't seen any chemistry in any of the lines, at least, on consistent basis

5-2 Canada takes it tonight.

in what universe do we not skate a single time in two days? What would be the reason for this? Something really stinks here

Especially in a short tournament where chemistry isn’t a guarantee. This should have been the first thing tried, let alone after you can’t score….

That's wild. Is Cameron even trying?

You can’t get injured if you’re never on the ice.
