Yanks run away with this one on the scoreboard, but get physically beat up by the bigger and more physical Slovakian team.

6-2 USA

The last two games at the WJC between the USA and Slovakia were quite close (2018 2:3 for Slovaks, 2019 2:1 for USA). If Slovakia made such an effort as they did against Canada, it could be in this case as well.

The Slovaks started the tournament surprisingly strong, but looked out of gas against Germany and even more so against Finland. They've gotten more rest towards the end of the pool stage, so I expect at better performance against USA, but it's gonna take a huge game from Hlavaj/Latkoczy and some lucky penalty calls in their favour as well as lucky bounces for them to stand a chance.

A 7-0 whipping wouldn't surprise me.. nor would a crazy upset from the Slovak's.

Hot of the press, Coach Petrovicky has chosen Šimon Latkóczy to start tonight against the United States. Will Latkóczy become synonymous with Janus and Godla? That's why they play the games. Good luck SVK.

Captain Samuel Knazko of Slovakia is listed as doubtful for tonight.

Slovak Captain Samuel Knazko does indeed return for tonight. He is paired with Marko Stacha. That is a big help for SVK. Also reunited for tonight, the dynamic trio: Chromiak - Myklukha - Slafkovský. Slovakia decides to go with an older lineup, 17 year-old defender Simon Bečár and 16 year-old forward Filip Filip Mešár are our healthy scratches.
