They talked about it on CiH, NHL is doing quarter century teams for all the franchises, 2 top lines, 2 D pairs and 2 goalies, who would you pick? 2000-2001 season to present.

Heatley-Spezza-Alfredsson
Tkachuk-Stutzle-Hossa

Chara-Karlsson
Sanderson-Volchenkov? (I'm trying to respect handedness, I think Volchenkov always played the right side for us, but am not sure)

Hasek
Anderson

Other options:
F: Stone, Yashin, Duchene, Giroux, Batherson,
D: Chabot, Redden, Methot, Phillips, Gonchar,
G: Lalime?

Stone vs hossa would be the big debate as I see it.
Otherwise I think you’ve got it right there.
Yeah, I initially had Stone in that spot then flipped it. Yashin vs Spezza is probably a decent debate too if you ignore the general disdain this fan base has for Yashin.

Razor I was serious, if Razor was on the ice with Brady Takchuk this team would have a completely different attitude. We have lambs in net
Razor would get run out of the building on this team. He had the mouth though he kind of sucked, but fair enough, he has his fans and I did like the personality.

Get off the ice, throw some food in the oven, go downstairs and watch the best hockey I'd ever get the chance to watch nightly

I think I pretty much agree with most lists here.

Forwards - Alfredsson, Heatley, Spezza, Hossa, Stutzle, Stone.
Defense - Karlsson, Redden, Phillips and Chara.
Goalie - Anderson

Honorable mentions to Lalime, Emery in goal - Lalime took us to a game 7 ECF, Emery took us to a Stanley Cup Final. Volchenkov and Sanderson at defense. Tkachuk and Yashin at forward.

Yashin in particular - 1 season in the 2000s for us. 88 points. That would be a top 10 point season all-time for Ottawa. Top 10 being Spezza x3, Alfredsson x2, Heatley x2, Yashin x2 and Stutzle x1. An amazing season but 1 season in the 2000s for us. Hard to put him on that team despite how strong the season was.

I suspect we'll see Chris Neil on the forward list though with it being justified because of the length of the career he had here.

Chris Neil is the all-time Sens roster 4th line RW for eternity. No player will ever do what Neiler did, truly a throwback and the last of his kind. Toughest Senator ever and it won’t ever be close

I'll always remember Razor for fighting Biron and Peter's in the same game and him slashing Maxime Laperrier in the face for being a f***ing rat. I think his paddle chipped Maximes tooth

That 07 team oozed swag. Very likeable team

I would take prime Redden over Sanderson. Would also choose Martin Havlat over Brady, but that could be my bias talking. He was one of my favorite players on this team, too bad he was so injury prone. So I would only have Stu from the current roster.

Yeah, I initially had Stone in that spot then flipped it. Yashin vs Spezza is probably a decent debate too if you ignore the general disdain this fan base has for Yashin.
Or move Stu to LW in place of Brady and have Yashin at center.

I'd like a do-over too but because back then, I only watched the playoffs, not each game. Now know what I missed out on.

Heatley Spezza Alfie
Stu Yashin Hossa

Redden Chara
Phillips Karlsson

Anderson
Hasek

Honorable mentions for Stone, Volchenkov & Emery
My list very similar to yours. Like you, only player from current roster is Stu.

Stop, Ray Emery saved the Sens that season. You should know that as a Sens fan.
He played admirably and was better than Gerber that year. Tough pill to swallow after losing Hasek. Still felt he was a handicap for that team more than any other area and certainly one of the reasons they didn't finish the job.

Agree he played Admirably, Early in the series the Sens just couldn’t break through and honestly if the big line had even scored 2 more goals in the first 3 games it would have changed the series. When Pronger also didn’t play a game and they lost on home ice that was a back breaker - Emery was there for the team that year all the way. Just how the entire attitude of the team changed when he went in the net, that season Emery as the biggest shot to the system that turned the team around, he’ll always be my playoff starter until Someone gets us closer

There is 0 chance I’m leaving Tkachuk off these teams.

He’d have been a perfect addition to the 02-03, 03-04 and 06-07 teams.

Stutzle would have been nice but would have been another skilled player to get physically dominated and waterskied off of by the Devils, Leafs and Ducks. Tkachuk might just tilt the balance.

Heatley-Spezza-Alfredsson
Tkachuk-Stutzle-Hossa

Methot-Karlsson
Sanderson-Chara

Anderson
Hasek

IIRC Chara often played right side with Phillips. I think it’s fair to put him there.

As a whole I don’t think Sanderson has supplanted Redden but I like him there too much. Chara would be an incredible partner shutting down the ice and allowing Sanderson’s skating to shine. Having Sandy float passes over for a Chara one timer instead of a Hamonic one would also be incredible.

Methot over Phillips is a little spicy but he really was an ideal partner for Karlsson. I want to put the best player in franchise history in position to succeed.

Hossa over Stone was close but I like Hossa’s added speed element next to Stutzle and Tkachuk.

Stutzle over Yashin is also spicy but I want the wheels and added compete of Tim.
